What's the best way to keep my mobile number whilst travelling abroad for 2 years?

So I'm currently with vaya under the $17/month deal and will be moving overseas for a couple of years but I still want to keep my mobile number as I will have to keep coming back home every few months.

What's the best way for me to keep my mobile number without having to continue to pay for the monthly fee?

Any help is appreciated!

    Aldimobile for $5 the first year and $15 the second?

      One thing to note is that Aldimobile doesn't offer global roaming. So you can't use it to receive SMSes (for free) when overseas. Which also means that if you believe that you need to send one SMS (at higher rates) while overseas to ensure that the account is in use, you won't be able to.
