D-Link DIR-826L Wireless N600 Dualband Gigabit Cloud Router $39 @MSY

10

Just spotted a new wireless router from D-Link. I understand this is not the top notch brand there is in the market, but for the price and its product offering, might be worth to check it out.

This D-Link router has the distinguished feature of Cloud services provided by D-Link, that enables you to share files across all your devices over LAN or internet. In essence, a cloud function. Certainly rendering one of most important NAS function without the need of having complete set of NAS which can be costly at times.

Other noteworthy features:

  • Dualband 2.4GHz & 5Ghz, wireless b/g/n
  • 1 WAN & 4 Gigabit LAN ports
  • N600, meaning 300Mbps per band

Enjoy. Share your thought.

    I got this last time:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/118502

Bad move. Works for a while, then gets slow (dropping packets??) Wifi unreliable too.
I went back to my old 802.11g / 100 router, and its much smoother.

Anyone in Perth want a cheap DIR-826L?

    • no ddwrt

firmware update is your only hope

      • It's a shame there's no DD-WRT support. I was hoping this could be a cheap way to my toe in.

      I never favoured cheap routers/modems.
      Always had issues.

Buy a more expensive one, and you'd good for the next few years. I recently upgraded my Billion 7800N to Asus RT-AC66U both awesome devices, however they cost from $150-200 though.

if you know what you're doing you dont see to buy $150+ shit

        i have a Dlink 865 that cost me -$15

        works fine

the various sub $50 dlinks wdcs and the usual Ozbb cheap shit all go good on openwrt

this brand new $39 wdc my net 900 seems to be fine over the last 3 days

Literally the story of every sub-100 dollar router's life. Billion 7800NXL or VDOX (if you need VPN/VOIP); those things are the AK-47s of the router world.

Looking at the picture I was thinking it was MacPro for $39 :)

  • Bought one during the last sale as well, Have it bridged to my Bigpond Cable modem, and finally i have usable wifi, Bigpond modem was horrendous with this i still get 80-90 Mbps via wifi which was unheard of from the Netgear Cable modem, has also stopped me from getting the network issues i was having running a Nas with Plex Media Server to my Samsung Smart TV,

  • Can this be used with USB modem, and if so what would the setup be like?

iibuy has got it for $35..

    • I don't know of any router which can use a USB ADSL2+ Modem.

However, there is quite a few out there which an use USB 3/4G Modem Sticks.

  • I see there are some people who are less than impressed with this device. I own one and i have to say for the price i think it is excellent. I have had no issues with the WiFi or the wired links, never had to be restarted i would buy another in an instant.

  • Had one from last time too. It took me quite a while to get it work. Somehow the power light refused to turn green (working condition) from time to time when you restart it(under powered? cheap regulator?). Tried a few time (had to leave it there for a while to get it work again) and finally get it working. It work fine for now however, been a few month and never had to restart it till now.

  • I don't get how there can be so much variance with the price of this router, some on staticice are selling it $160+. Either MSY's price is crazy or theirs is.

flingshot has it for $36.4 incl delivery.

I bought it last year for $39 from flingshot

    • flingshot appears to have shut down :(

      From their homepage:

"It is with great sadness and regret that we must announce that as of Friday the 31st of January Flingshot is no longer operating.
We would like to apologize to anyone who was affected by our closure.

  • D-Link should be paying people to buy their products.

  • From the picture I thought it's another egg roll maker

  • Have one connected to the NBN atm. Got it 6mths ago mainly for the Gigabit WAN+LAN ports as I already have a wired network. Very good budget router.
