  I've always used Cut Price Car Rentals whenever we visited family on the Gold Coast (which is around twice a year). Rented a late model Tarago early 2013 for $312 for 7 days (including admin fee, but only standard insurance cover), which was cheapest I could find.

  i ended up with AVIS - cost $650 inc 1 child seat for 7 days (Kia gran carnival)

        I have used Avis around 10 times too. but those times work pays. never an issue

  When we were looking for a hire car for a trip away recently I found Avis was the cheapest for what we were looking for, and also, that booking direct through the Avis site was cheaper than any of the other supposed bargains being offered for them through third-party sites, such as Qantas etc.

  For the dates you have provided, I come up with just 6 days, and running those dates through their booking generator comes up with a total of $579.50 for Kia Grand Carnival (or similar) with one child seat.

  I added a day to make you eligible for a free 7th day and came up with a total of $559.

  Depending on where you're flying into, and what you're planning on doing while you're there, the Cooloongatta special they're offering might be of more use to you - a free upgrade that you might be able to negotiate to get the car you're wanting for cheaper, plus a "FREE Holiday Voucher Booklet valued at $300 which includes one free entry to Dreamworld & White Water World valued at $79"
