  • Why is this one a bargain? plenty under $5.95.
This one cost only $4 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3Port-1080P-HDMI-Switch-Switcher-…

local stock. The one you linked would take a month to arrive.

      • +1

More likely 2 weeks; also they refund if its longer than 22 days.. so.. ;)

    • True ur find is cheaper.
However look at your delivery time.
      "Est. 13 Feb, 2014 - 26 Feb, 2014" vs
      Est. 31 Jan, 2014

  • Does "intelligent function" means that it automatically switches the source when it starts getting a signal from one of the inputs. For example, if I have 3 game consoles connected to this (of which I only ever use one at a time), will it automatically switch to the relevant game console when I turn the console on? This is what I'm looking for.

yes - i have one and this is what it does. whatever device you turn on last, the switcher will switch to that input

for example - my mediacenter is on 24/7, so if i turn on the xbox - it will switch to the input where the xbox is connected. once i turn off the xbox, it will switch back to the mediacenter.

      • Thanks for the info!

      • Great reply. Thanks!

    • Thanks, I was wondering the same thing.

    • I have one of these and this auto function only partially works for me. I have a Digital set top box and an AppleTV connected to it. If I am watching TV from the set top box and then I switch over to the AppleTV it will automatically switch to the AppleTV signal. However, when I turn off the AppleTV and turn on the set top box it does not automatically switch back to the set top box signal.

I'm not sure why this happens, I thought maybe because when I switch off the AppleTV it goes into hibernate mode (rather than switch off) and this small signal is keeping the HDMI switcher there.

I also had this problem with mine but I found a quick little workaround which saves me from getting up off my lazy butt.

If I turn off the second source, I'll turn off the TV with my remote, then turn it straight back on while the first source is still running. Should automatically go back to the first source without the need of getting up and switching it manually :)

    • I tried one of these before, but the auto switcher function didn't work for my use-case. I was unable to leave multiple HDMI sources on at the same time (e.g. TiVo while watching BoxeeBox) as the signal combined. Had to turn off the other two input sources for the remaining input to work correctly. Bah - so I upgraded my AV Receiver to one with 8 HDMI inputs. :-)

  • Wouldn't a splitter allow you to have multiple outputs from a single input? This doesn't seem to be the case with this device.

Great little device but mine only worked for 3 months and then stopped working.

    • That's 2 months longer than mine lasted. Exact same product.

  • I've old Home Theater Receiver, how can I split HDMI to HDMI(tv) and audio only to Receiver

    • Might be best to split the video connection into 2 outputs (1in 2out splitter) from your source (assuming dvd/bluray player), have 1 hdmi going to TV, other to the receiver. Both will transmit audio and video, but each device doesn't have to play both (ie doesn't matter if receiver has a video feed, and doesn't matter if TV has audio feed).
      Get what I mean? :)

Is this something you are after? seems quite expensive.

    • I'm in this scenario, using a projector with HDMI in and a receiver with Coax/Optical(no HDMI) in. I'm using HDMI out of the devices for video and Coax (set top box)/Optical (Apple TV) digital out for audio.

  • Do you have a splitter that does 1 in 2 out?
    edit: seen in comments.

  • tried this to split from mac mini, ps3, only ps3 output is displayed, wont show mac mini…..

    • i got similar problem with my imac, it SOMETIEMS show, somteims not.
      I gave up.

  • I purchased one from CX computer for $9 (after $10 AMEX cash back). It doesn't work with my Sony Blu-Ray player.
    1) If I connect my Sony Blu Ray Player to my Sony TV directly, it works
    2) If I connect my Sony Blu Ray Player to that splitter and the splitter to my Sony TV, I get the error "Signal not supported".

  • tomorrow and the next day will have new free samples too guys

  • I thought it said "Switch Hitter" for a minute!

  • I've got two of these off ebay. So far used it with a sony dvd player, a laptop, fetchtv box and a ps3. No problems so far.

  • Normal price. I get a fair degree of "noise" with mine. Might be the cables or whatever, but I unplugged it and put it in a draw. One solid reason, and one half-reason … this isn't a bargain.

  • why not buy HDMI V1.4 than? this one still based on v1.3, i don't think it support 3D.

Seems like a good price to me, and been wanting to get one of these. Only downside for me is the shape. I'd much rather all the input ports be on the one side of the device, as having cables coming out of 4 directions will take up a lot of my entertainment unit's real-estate.

  • Received item yesterday. It worked fine.
