I made the mistake of paying full price for Final Fantasy XIII-2 and then the price dropped like a brick. I'll be waiting a couple of months for this one to drop as well.

    • Hi Rukia, you can use comparegames to set up an price alert so you know exactly when the price drops

I know it's been said a thousands times and most OzBarginers are already aware, but just remember these are imports and shipping times are usually fairly lengthy. Otherwise, BB is good if you can wait to save for a bargain.

    • Blockbuster only stock imports?

  • Las time I tried to buy a game (Xbox One), they cancelled the order next day as they said they couldn't actually get any stock…

Ive ordered many times from Blockbuster and delivery time is usually 6-9 days. I don't know why people expect to pay half price and have the game teleport to your letter box in under 2 mins. Blockbusters fault or unrealistic expectations?

If you want it now, pay full price at retail.

yep $109 for GTA5 at my local EB!

i think its the .com.au which gives the unrealistic expectation of where the stock actually is

    • Another issue is (possibly) people will order without noting the estimated dispatch time. If its in stock it is 1-3 days (or so), and if it is out of stock/backordered, it is 7-10 days.

BlockBuster could of course make this clearer, but I know I've overlooked this once or twice and wondered why it hadn't been shipped yet; I have no doubt this is probably the case for all the people that have the "It took over 4 weeks to come!" horror stories. The prices are good, so demand is high, and chances are they'll be out of stock on some of their products.

  • Don't think they stock 3DS Super Mario 3D Land ?

You are right, sorry that was a mistake I have removed it

Ps4NerD - your website looks good, but im confused it is showing games like mario kart 8 were about $25 at christmas time. is this accurate? If so from where?

    • Thanks Dany, it's currently down due to an urgent windows update but should be up in about 30 - 40 mins. The website is usually fairly accurate - however I believe that could have been an error (or a crazy boxing/christmas special)

I agree with the above posters. If you are not in a rush to play the game, buy from Blockbuster and if you are impatient I would just buy from retailers. From my experience, I bought BF4 for PS4 on Jan 3rd and was delivered just yesterday.

  • Ps4NerD: Are the listings manually entered? Because I've found a lot of mistakes. For example Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster Limited Edition has blockbuster as a retailer but they're not stocking the Limited Edition, only the normal one.

Like I said, there are a lot of these kinds of mistakes on 'comparegames'.

Yeah it's not perfect unfortunately - limited editions are hard to match against, but thanks for letting me know - I'll try and rectify it :)

I know some products seem to match with similar products and give completely inaccurate reports. Skylanders is one of the particularly problematics ones. You may expect to find something like Skylanders: Giants at a cheaper price given its age, and it will be listed at a decent price, but will instead link to one of the figures instead.

The system isn't flawless, but it works for the most part, and has saved my plenty of time and money. :)

Hey mate I checked your website great idea. And pretty good comparison. Great job will keep it bookmarked :)

  • Still waiting on shipping for my pre-order of Lightning Returns from Blockbuster. Usual Story. I'm not in that much of a hurry but others might not like to a week before it even ships and then another couple of weeks for it to arrive. That's what happened last time I pre-ordered from them. For older stocked games it's been great though.

Edit: Oh and don't ever expect any pre-order items either. You are pre-ordering with Blockbuster, not the publisher. And you have to pay up-front.
