It actually isn't that bad on the PC, with the obvious caveat that the frame rate is locked to a piddling 30FPS; however ingenious hax0rz have gotten around that hurdle now (although at launch I damn-near stomped on the DVD case, trying to race at 30FPS; like driving through molasses or something).
Sort of the same case as what happened with TWR:2 on launch; the gameplay and story itself was great when it came together but it needed about 20 patches to get it up to a true release standard (and woefully understated system requirements didn't help things).
Definitely the best NFS release in a long time; since Most Wanted imo.
I've heard the ps4 and xbox one versions were locked at 30FPS as well.
Does the PC 60 FPS hack allow you to play online still?
May not even pirate….

I really want this on PS4, I've heard it's actually a very solid arcade racer on the next gens but $18 is very tempting.
