Decor Tellfresh Containers

Hi all,
Does anyone know of a current special on these containers? I am in desperate need of some more, but just can't bring myself to pay full price when I know they will crop up somewhere at half price.

I have been keeping an eye on Woolies, Coles and Big W with no luck as yet.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks :)

  • Sorry dont know of any current sales but keep an eye on Target as well. They've had 30 to 50% off a few times throughout last year.

You can also try Officeworks and Zanui - both online.

  • Be patient, Coles used to offer 50% off every few months.
We still use several of these, but after 4 years using both, I'm preferring the Sistema Klip-it containers. They seal more effectively.
Coles used to alternate price reductions between Decor and Sistema, so keep an eye on the catalogues.

Edit: Coles catalogue starting Jan 22, 30% off Sistema Klip-it range.

I'm preferring the Sistema Klip-it containers. They seal more effectively.

tupperware and decor realseal have the best seals :)

      • I find with the Decors, if using the cake box or larger ones, you really have to double-check the lid's clicked on all the way around. I probably shouldn't store ground coffee in the cake box, but it takes a 1kg block easily and we don't notice a flavour difference in the two weeks it's there.

The Sistema ones are more positive in that sense — if both clips are down, it's sealed.
For flour, rice etc I like them. There's many people whinging about microwave warpage with them, but I've managed that wih a Decor too.

        • perhaps but sistema is not airtight :(

        • We went off Decor because we found larvae in our cereal and flour containers. They were "sealed" and we never let moths or anything into them.

The larvae eggs probably were already in the packaged goods.
There is probably a weevil to product acceptability ratio.

You can try freezing some packaged goods (like flour).

We used to get rice at a certain store, but stopped because we ended up getting moths/bugs fairly frequently. Ended up buying elsewhere and didn't have any further infestations.

        • Thanks for the link.

What's odd is that it affected breakfast cereal and flour.

That phase was some time between 98-01. I forget when exactly. Suspect it was that particular apartment, because we still use Decor for certain things and nothing has infiltrated them since.

What can I say? I must like the clickety-Klips.

  • also spotlight - they had 30% off last week, don't know about now

  • Thanks guys, I am trying to be patient, but after a trip to a "weigh and pay" type of place, our kitchen bench is covered in mountains of bags of stuff :)

I do have some of those Sistema Klip It ones, but I prefer the Decor Tellfresh because you can put those little yellow tags on the front so you always know what is in it, when it was made, when it should be used by etc.

    I will keep waiting :)

  • There is a buy one get one free offer on decor containers at Spotlight this week.

  • I love the Decor containers…small flat round one's are ideal for me.

However, after a less than a year of freezing and nuking in microwave the tops started to crack in the middle. I now have extra bowels and no tops :( I now pour cold water over the tops in the hope that they will cool to room temperature before I nuke them and heat them up quickly. Don't know if this will stop the cracking…

    • I only nuke them with the lids on until it thaws enough to remove it, then just rest it on top diagonally.

Our lids don't tend to live long enough to have that problem though - one drop when they're frozen and they break every time. We have heaps of square sandwich sized containers as a result. They're a good size for holding a meal for lunches or quick dinners when we can't be bothered cooking.
