  • Great deal mate! I've been needing some decent storage containers, perfect opportunity!

  • +4

One feature of these boxes is that we found young kids (3-5) find these easier to open than other airtight containers. You may or may not see this as a good thing.

    what state?

last time tehy were on sale it was only the eastern states not SA.

    • +2

      I saw them in NSW

    • +2

      WA too

    • +2

I saw them on sale in Firle, SA Coles today.

VIC too, saw them a few days ago.

    • +1

      QLD will see it done.

    • NT as well

It doesn't seem to matter how many I buy, I always seem to need more…

    • If only they multiplied like coathangers…

  • IMHO the 10 pack for $10 that seems to be the new standard price at Coles is the best value if you are buying more than one or two of these.

    • Those were $8.50 last week, less than $1 a piece. :)

      • In the shops around here the $8.50 packs are 6-piece (and they are still on sale at that price) - either way good deal for decent containers.

    • Aren't these 10pk for $5 this week? I grabbed one last Wednesday.

Saw in brisbane too. Dodnt get any cause I have so many of them already from past sales.

Systema is really good. Beter than decor. Better seals. Better flaps. Better plastic.

    • +1

      I love good flaps

    • +3

      Sistema aren't airtight.

  • SA too

Anyone had issues with these leaking when storing liquids?

    • +5

None of the ones I have are good for liquids. The liquid just pours out.

I had been hoping to use one of these boxes to keep my camera in, when on holiday, so it would be protected from accidental dunks in water. No good, water flows freely into and out of the container.

A shame, because the Sistema containers are easy to open and close, and are quite rugged. Just not watertight.

    • +2

Yes, these are terrible. You'd think they'd have a better seal (locking lid, rubber washer etc) but they are actually worse than my decor tellfresh containers.

      • +2

^ this. my tellfresh ones seal much better. those rubber seals are just for show and eventually warp

  • can you heat up food in the microwave with these ones ?

    • Yes and no. Some foods, like defrosting frozen bread, no problem. Other foods, like reheating last night's dinner, can sometimes cause the plastic to blister in places. Maybe the food got too hot for the plastic?

  • +1

Yes, foods with high sugars/oils can reach 250°C + in the microwave, higher than the thermosoftening temperature of these containers.

    • Ahh, I thought it was related to oily foods, but I wasn't sure. Thanks for the informative reply!

  • fyi sistema are not water/airtight - best are decor realseal and tupperware imo :)

sistema and decor are regularly half-price at big w, coles, spotlight, woolworths

  • These boxes are too expensive when they are not on sale…Great deal!
