    9.98 shipping to Sydney

  • As usual with CotD, shipping kills it.

$14.99 to metro Brisbane (4005).. Kills it for me..

    • It only cost me $10 for rural NSW.

I've got the catch of the day club and they add shipping to this, no deal. Would've bought it otherwise but $40 for short dated cider is too much.

do you mean the free shipping membership? thought it was meant to make EVERYTHING free ship, sucks that it still has caveats. Glad I didnt get it

      • Yep, keep thinking the exact same thing… All of the good bargains from COTD don't qualify for the free shipping!

$19.99 for shipping to the NT. Kills it for me.

Thats a lot of cider to drink in 2 weeks!

It's best before so you can drink it after the date.

    LOL

Its $82 at Dan Murphys for a case

A BBD is not a USE BY date and they tend to put one year on it by default
Most beer and cider is fine for up to 2 years after manufacture if well stored

The issue here is that a product like this would rarely have such a short BBD
(I know I own three shops) and you have to ask yourself why is it so close to "code"
Where has it been stored, how many times has it been round the world etc

    • And the fact that it's a carbonated beverage, not brewed, so it's going to lose fizz before anything else.

      • Of course it's brewed. It's not pear juice and vodka.

  • Thanks OP

I've tasted a deal of these from Catch of the Day previously and they were terrible and poured like syrup!

Don't know if it was the near expiry or whether they had been chilled/back to room temperature multiple times, but it tasted nothing like a fresh batch from the bottle shop.

    Be warned.
