      There's no PAL or NTSC for portable consoles. That stuff is reserved for TV.

        sadly nintendo's current consoles are region locked in the same manner as pal/ntsc.

        It's pretty much the same. The regions they are locked to are the same as PAL, NTSC and NTSJ

        Semantics. Technically consoles do not have NTSC, PAL, or NTSC-J (technically those formats don't exist in the world of Bluray), but it is accurate in helping people to understand what games they can and cannot order.

    Unless you know German, I wouldn't worry about it. As far as I know, the Layton games are all mono-language in Europe, so the Italian version would be Italian-only, German is German-only, etc.
