  • "$299 - Officeworks 10% pricematch = 269.10 (paid for with ING Direct) = $255.65"

What is this 10% price match you speak of?

    • Yes its currently 10%, as mentioned in a few other posts. Apparently its limited to back to school items, but the system has a blanket 10% off for all price match.

      • How did you convince them to 10% price match on a special order? Did you ring 1300 OFFICE or go through the store?

        • T&C's state they won't.

I just got the same thing (1300 OFFICE). Officeworks refused to pricematch on a special order.

        • I went to a OW store, showed them a printout of the staples webpage and they price matched. Although I did know about the 10% I wasn't banking on it. They did refuse to do free delivery thou, but I only live few hundred metres from a OW store so it didn't matter.

  • 5% ING is only for first 6 months right?

  • ING Direct?

Isn't that deal only for Paywave < $100?

    • Split the payment in $99 segments or buy gift cards.
Note. Splitting payments may upset ING Direct

      • Good thinking.

      • Better off getting gift cards for different amounts. Splitting payments one after the other and you may not get your 5% rebate.

        • Splitting payments one after the other and you may not get your 5% rebate.

You will get your rebate. If you do too many consecutively (for buying a laptop as an e.g.), you'll get flagged by ING and they'll give you a warning call.

  • No WA delivery, count me out.

    • Yep (being in WA) I also tried Staples when I wanted to order one of these chairs six months ago.
I'm sure I've seen their delivery vans in West Perth.

Officeworks denied the pricematch because it was a "Special Order".

Ended up getting it through Officemax.
Paid a little more than this price, but might be worth seeing if they can do anything to match or make the price a little more reasonable.

I guess it's one of those items that selling one isn't a big money spinner (why there's such huge margins), whereas fitting out an office using these might give a little more negotiating power. Also seems like most people (myself included) just buy those Officeworks cheapies that end up in bulk rubbish every year.

  • What exactly is the bargain? Shouldn't it be $20 off all orders > $125? Is it yet another officeworks price match/ ING?

    • only takes a second to google the price at other stores

Or for you to tell us.

I've got a Buro chair (admittedly a different model, though it's twice the price of this one) and I've been pretty unimpressed considering the price tag. I've already busted mine (the back part has snapped/cracked/something that makes it fall over on its own) and trying to liaise with the local outlet to get it repaired (courtesy the 10 year warranty) is a PITA.

  • Shouldn't this be $251 before pay wave?

    $299 - $20 = $279
    $279 * 90% = $251

  • How does it stack up against those kingpin chairs from mojodirect? I just bought one of the kingpin vorso mesh ergo chairs from them for 176ish just waiting for pick up confirmation. looks quite similar.

    • warranty, metal base and it comes with arms

      • damn. 10 year warrantee.
well the price included arms because of 15% discount. The Green one comes with free arms so that saves about 25 bucks.

  • I have had mine for over 2 years and I am really happy with it. I have used Herman Miller Aerons for work, which are better quality, but over 3 times the price. For a sub $300 I think it's functional and comfortable to use for a full work day.

    • Quality aside, are you saying that functionally (comfort wise) this chair is the same? If so, I might just get this! was considering the herman miller, but can't justify $1000 lol

      • Quality aside, are you saying that functionally (comfort wise) this chair is the same?

As an Aeron owner for a year now, whenever I sit in a non-mesh office chair it feels like I've got a heating pad under my butt. The full mesh back AND seat really make a difference in comfort here in QLD.

There are a lot of mesh backed chairs around, but one with a mesh seat (like the Aeron) is comparatively rare.

That said, a 10 year warranty and an 8 hour/day design for <$300 is a decent deal.

  • OP - did you have to do a special order at Office Works, or did they have stock?

    • Special Order.. took two days to arrive

Bought this chair a couple of days ago from Staples using the $20 coupon as well.

Very nice chair so far, real comfortable and ultra easy to assemble as well.

The 10 year warranty is great to have compared to some of the other chair around the same price-mark that have ~2 years warranty only

  • Bought this chair some time ago for about $380 from the Back Centre in Adelaide so $280 is an excellent price! After a while I needed a deeper lumbar support so went with a Herman Miller Mirra for home use, but I took the Metro to work to use.

It's a decent chair and the warranty is really good. The mesh on mine loosened almost completely after 6 months or so (I'm a fairly heavy guy though) and the Back Centre took it back and gave me a brand new one. The adjustments work really well and the gaslift is still going strong. Also, the cushion is comfortable and doesn't wear easily like some other chairs!

  • Just ordered one after reading good reviews here and on Whirlpool. Thanks OP.

  • We should do a group buy for Herman Miller

    • I'd be keen

    • count me in

    • Is that the legit thing though or a replica?

  • How did you get officeworks price match, I called and they said will not price match on special orders.
    Can you upload the receipt?
    Thanks

    • I called up aswell and they gave me the same answer, looks like staples it is!

    • I called today, same thing, no price matching on special orders. I'll ship to a mate where I can get free delivery. Will take a little longer to find it's way to my house.

  • Bought one just then.. Thanks OP

    Great deal but…

Ordered from staples. Arrived in two days, fantastic.

One of the handles to adjust the chair was smashed so set up a return. Someone will come and pick up the chair and the order will be canceled. Staples won't just send a replacement and I can't use the coupon again so the only way to get it is to re-order at full price… Seems a bit strange.

Oh, and they charged my credit card twice.

That seems like a strange defective goods procedure, I would double check that.
Under their policy you're entitled to a replacement or refund.

      http://www.staples.com.au/wrapper.aspx?param=returnpolicy
For all warranty claims, Staples Australia will arrange for pick up and assessment of the goods at no cost to the customer. If a product is determined faulty through no fault of the customer, then Staples Australia will facilitate repair or replacement of the product or offer a refund.

    • That's strange that you can't demand a replacement. Oh well.
