Do good with TiVo: help your mates go digital

Freeview is coming and TiVo customers have a sweet deal at their finger tips: TiVo media devices come completely digital ready and Freeview compliant, which means you can just sit back and wait for the digital revolution to come to you! No new television, no new set top box, just a TiVo media device.

To celebrate the Freeview release, TiVo is starting the Freeview Switchover promotion so current TiVo owners can share the TiVo love with their family and friends.

Tell your mates you care by helping them get digital ready with a $50 discount code and at the same time you'll be aiding a great cause because we will be making a $10 donation across four charities!

Here's how it works:

Send your friends the Refer a Friend email below to give them the promotional code and the email address you activated your TiVo under.

Your friends can then purchase a TiVo media device online at http://shop.tivo.com.au between 27 April and 31 December 2009, entering in the promotional code 'SWITCH' and your email address at checkout. The $50 discount will then be applied to their purchase.

Purchases must be paid in full to obtain the $50 discount as this offer is not valid for TiVo media devices purchased using our instalment plans.

Once purchased, we will make a $10 donation across these four charities: Salvation Army, Cerebral Palsy Foundation, Lifeline Australia and Wildlife Warriors Worldwide.

The sky's the limit so invite as many friends as you like.

Freeview is coming, help your mates prepare!

    $50? Pfff…take $350 off and we'll talk business.

    • Agreed. Too little on TV to make it worthwhile.

    • aye aye.. its $100 less from brand new ones on feebay, around the $600 mark..

tivos are awesomely user friendly but hideously expensive..

speaking of feebay, there is a guy there selling this promo code for about $6 lol..

  • Didn't realise Tivo was so expensive. How do they justify $700 for one of these? Or $650 for that matter.

  • Just remember to add $199 if you want to copy shows to your computer to archive (x264, divx etc.) them… https://shop.tivo.com.au/online/range/home-networking-packag…

    Massive rip-off in my opinion.

  • I bought mine though cpapestore.com for $599. They usually sell on eBay for $640, but it's cheaper if you contact them directly using sales@ with the web address I gave. If anyone wants to use this tivo.com.au $50 referral let me know happy to give you the code. You need an email address to go with the switch code posted here.

  • Definitely check out the other options before you spend all that money on a Tivo (or restricted Freeview set up). $2.50 to a charity - Wow! I can donate a lot more on my own just fine thanks (especially with the money I save not getting a Tivo or Freeview branded box)
