As most of you know, The Good Guys have a price guarantee where they'll refund 120% if you found the price cheaper elsewhere after your purchase. What are people's thoughts on using that to get a discount. I.e. seen it cheaper at another store but purchase it from good guys so you can use their price guarantee.

Their fine print is such that it is rare that they actually do this. Also it's 120% of the difference not just 120%. The other thing is that it has to be a direct local competitor. Basically they make OW price matching thing a cakewalk in comparison to all the hoops they make you jump through to get said refund.

lol, so what's the chance they'll just say everything is a clearance offer ?
There's a post on this already, https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/128161
I just bought a Galaxy S4 from Good Guys - I'll keep an eye out over the next 30 days to see if someone offers it cheaper and test it out, so thanks for bringing it to my attention. Their claim procedure looks straight forward.
As far as purposely buying it there when you've seen it elsewhere cheaper, I'm not sure it's worth the effort unless the item costed thousands. I paid $600 for the S4, if someone had it for an amazing price of $550, I'm just $10 better off.
I do believe it's ethical even though I wouldn't bother myself. These mobs have these schemes so their high prices catch the unaware while not losing those who are aware, so use them I say.
