Total: $873 + shipping/delivery (prices from MSY, includes $70 for the build/warranty); $803 if you don't include the build/warranty fee.

    • Sounds like a good deal then. Interesting that you use MSY prices and not CPL's own.

These RAM prices are still more expensive than 1.5 years ago. I paid less than that for g.skill 16GB RAM.

I'm accustomed to MSY's parts PDF… :P That and I see MSY as the industry benchmark for prices (sort of) since they'll often have one of the best prices for a part, unless someone has a sale and beats them. This assumes that what you want from MSY is in stock though. Also resolves the issue of retailers inflating their RRPs so that they can advertise a larger savings component (not saying that's what CPL does, just an example of a less than savoury practice that other retailers may undertake).

And yeah RAM is ridiculous. The OzBargainer in me doesn't want to buy another 8GB kit for $90-100 when it's been as low as $45-50 previously… :L

        • Some things CPL are cheaper than MSY on. When they're not cheaper, it's usually a dollar or two difference. They also have a better range and better stock levels generally.

        • but the ready reckoner pdf from msy is always my first point of call for pricing.

if i find it cheaper ill buy elsewhere, but typically msy is very competitive.

  • rep, can you confirm if the case has front USB3.0?

specs from other websites doesn't mention it, but the thumbnail on your site looks like it does =.=''

    • +1

It has one front USB3 port.

      • thanks for quick reply

  • With a 420W PSU, I doubt you'd want to put in anything more powerful than a Radeon 6850. This looks more like a home multimedia PC than a gaming rig. Fantastic price from CPL though.

    • Thanks for the comments. Happy new year.

Yeah, generally minimum required wattage advertised is just to keep the idiots out from complaining if something goes wrong. Real world usage is much MUCH less. Pick up a cheap reader from jaycar and you'd be surprised at how little it actually is.

  • Rep, can I remove the OS?

  • Will this be able to handle Full HD video editing? Which video card would you recommend?

    • Hi Rog, a mid-range card will do.

  • IMHO this is the best system seen for a while for average everyday joe who wants 'a computer' that will pretty much reliably do what s/he wants(now and for the next few years) without hassle or having to add bits & pieces, and at an affordable value price. Well done!

    • Thanks, Sean. Happy new year.

  • How do I order it? Shouldn't there be an option on the page to 'add to cart'?

Edit: showing as 'out of stock' on the list of systems page. Looks like it's expired already.

    • We just confirmed a few more units. Be quick if you'd like to order.

  • Has this deal expired?

  • it has been sold out for the past few hours idk why u keep saying you got more?

  • You should be able to purchase now.

  • how about this one? better? Intel Quad Core i7 4770 3.4GHz 1TB 8GB HDMI Desktop Gaming PC Computer http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Intel-Quad-Core-i7-4770-3-4GHz-1T…

    • dont forget this one includes windows etc that one dosent just fyi

  • 3 times I tried to buy this 2nite and first 2 times no add to cart then just before out of stock great sale…

I too could not buy this. Not a very good deal,if not many available.

  • is the deal over rep?

    • +1

Yes but the deal never really started couldn't order all day cause of stupid broken site and then was out of stock pretty much asap

  • Not a good experience so far. This is the first time I bought from CPL West Melb. I managed to order this system and made the payment on the same day and was told the system will be ready within 24 to 48 hrs. Fair enough that the new year day was not counted, I thought that it will be ready latest today. I made 4 phone calls and was told different stories every time(payment not received yet but I checked it went through the day before; their technician called in sick; their technician half day off; and the latest one was the cpu is out of stock and the system will be ready Earliest on Sunday which I doubt it)My questions are 1)Why do you put such a time-frame if you cannot honour it? 2)If any circumstances that are out of your control, shouldn't you(cpl) be the one who should inform us as customer?

I'll wait till Sunday and see what they will tell me. Cheers.
