Been looking for a 70-200mm with IS/VC/OS/VR on the cheap. Seems like a pretty good price for local stock.
I know for 70-200mm, Sigma < Tamron < Canon/Nikon but the prices are like $1000 < $1500 < $2200…

The Sigma came out earlier so you will pick it up cheaper by a couple hundred $. From what I've seen the Canon-mount Tamron 70-200 VC is amazing, however from the Camera Labs review on a Nikon mount lens it had horrible haloing @ 200mm wide open. Thus, April this year I bought the Sigma OS instead after waiting for the Tamron to be released.
Pretty happy, I'd say not sharp at 2.8 @ 200mm, for sharpness across the frame you need to stop down to f8. However the Nikon 70-200 f4 is sharper in the corners WIDE OPEN than the Sigma @ 200mm f8.
Yeah like 5 years on Tamron in the US. Nikon have lifted their game to 2 year warranties here, but AFAIK Canada have similar warranty durations to here.
Is Tamron better than the Sigma ? I thought the Sigma was better ! Maybe I'm thinking of the older Tamron without VC.
Good deal for local stock though (2 year CK warranty I'm assuming) for a nice fast telephoto lens ! On a side note, is it only me, but it irks me how the lenses sold in the US get 4-6 years warranty !
