Woolworths Global Roaming - good for International roaming?

I'm going away for 10 days (Vanuatu/Noumea).

I'm with TPG but their international charges for roaming look expensive for data.

I looked at the Woolworth card here: http://www.woolworthsglobalroaming.com.au/
Would that work for me?

Does one pay $29 for the card and then pay more to get data while roaming?

Anyone tried anything else?

Any tips or suggestions welcome!

Local simcard. If you don't wanna do that, i just roamed for 5 months in 20 european countries with Truphone and they were unbelievable. Cheap and reliable and just awesome.

If you look at the data rate for Vanuatu for that WGR card, it's $1.15 for 100kB, quite steep.

Honestly you're better off leeching off WiFi whereever you can, or buying a local SIM, but prepaid SIMs with data may or may not be economical for visitors.

You can also port your number to truphone (I guess you really won't need to do that if you are away for only 10 days).

However, vanuatu rates look a tad expensive.

If you're interested in woolworths, this deal gives you 60 credit with the sim for 57 bucks. You have to pay the $7 for postage which is unavoidable. This offer is for when you buy their travel insurance.

Noumea has prepaid SIMs (from the only telco) but getting data is interesting… This is an English site which explains it.
Basically when you want data, you send an SMS to a number (different depending on how much data you want)

Buy the Carte Liberte at the post offices.

    Data allocations are tiny.
