Club Catch - One Year of Unlimited Shipping from COTD for $79

Although i bag them, i do end up buying a fair bit from COTD each year.
Based on what i have spent on shipping in the past year across their sites, this seemed like a good deal to me.

COTD sometimes have free delivery on their offers… so if they introduce $79, wouldn't that mean it will be less value? Or if they decide not to have free delivery next year, then probably it will mean their offers aren't that attractive?

don't know. I would sign up for amazon if it costs me $400 a year and gives me free delivery. for sites like cotd… not for me. :)

yeah i can see your point, from what i understand they are moving towards a pre-pay free shipping system next year (according to their facebook) regardless this works for me as i spent well over $100 on shipping with them in 2013, i dont always get the free shipping but they do occasionally have some pretty sweet deals even when u pay the shipping costs.

In the last year I've given them $104.45 for shipping…… but if I do this I'll order more because of free shipping……

    • How come so much? I personally just don't find anything on their site that attractive.

Then again, i guess this would be a good deal for you though.

      • Me / Wife / kids / groceryrun, pretty much spread evenly between those four. But I don't want to buy more from them, I don't like them much :)

Customer service is still a joke, even though it's way better than it was.

My last transaction with them was many months ago and it involved the customer service (?) person asking me to remove my PayPal dispute with them in order to receive my refund. This despite being promised the refund earlier in an email from them (yet no action after waiting a few weeks).

This was on an item CatchOfTheDay purposely sent less than the advertised amount of items to (to multiple people, according to comments on ozbargain, so it was no mistake).

Suffice to say, never again. (I got my refund, regardless)

  • each to their own, I order occasionally from cotd and grocery run, but not to the value of $79

  • good in a sense that they provide 3 different delivery address. If you have family living apart then you can create single account & use different delivery address.
Bad in a sense that it applies only to regular parcels & excludes over-sized & fragile parcels.
Good for frequent buyers, not for me.

  • Not bad… often shipping from them kills the deal for me. But I just end up shopping elsewhere anyway…

This is essentially Amazon Prime. Same price as well. Some of my friends in the US are subscribed to Prime and love it. However, Amazon sells everything usually for the the cheapest.

Free shipping could be worth it for Groceryrun especially when they offer their free products that you only need to pay for shipping.

If someone was savvy enough, perhaps they could start a group and register 3 different Aus Post Parcel lockers around major cities, so everyone could place orders.

    • well Ideally Catch should do this themselves. Have a collection point in major cities.

  • wonder if it works for the freebie days where JUST pay shipping? it does say no minimum.

seems to work best with grocery run since i can now buy smaller items

  • Hmmm. This or Costco membership. ..
    Interesting decision.
Anyone want to help to weigh in to help me decide. ..

    • go with Costco. You get unlimited warranty with the ability to return anytime provided u have continuous membership. Plus much more choice.

    • atleast with costco you get a shopping experience and don't have to run the australia post delivery gauntlet…

Postage kills most deals on cotd so this is worth it, especially for small items on grocery run, and got it for $69 after $10 credit!

    • +1

I have $37 Credit sitting on my account, decision time :P

  • I doubt I ever spend enough at cotd to make this deal worth it. I'm sure there's people this deal would appeal to. The only time I usually buy anything is when they have their annual sale, which usually just a waste of time anyhow.

  • "Does this cover oversized / fragile items?
No, this only applies to regular parcels" No deal for me.

  • great if you can find bargains amongst all that crap they can't get rid of.

  • expired?

My free shipping membership activated yesterday.

So far, I've either saved ~$22 in shipping fees, or spend an extra $66 on stuff I wouldn't have otherwise. :D

I got a packet of Strepsils that was "free, just pay shipping" today. They did remove the shipping charge so they really were "free". I'll certainly be checking CotD daily now, looking for similar deals.

I wonder what will happen when CotD has a large "free, just pay shipping" sale?
