Looks like DSE had this for 99 twice before, I would wait until it comes down again

Correct. Also included free shipping for that deal.

  • its a good unit, if your still using inbuilt speakers. Better waiting till it goes down to 99 again. I grabbed it last time!

    • it's to buy if $99, how is the quality ? Value for money if 99?

      • Not being an audiophile, I'd say its easily better than any internal tv speaker your likely to have….. other than that your better checking for yourself. For 99 bucks however, I'd say buy the sucker :). I'm just setting up my harmony remote with it too.
edit: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/119303 and https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/114822 are 2 prior times it was at $99 and may have the opinions/answers your looking for.
edit2: Just make sure you understand it's not HDMI passthrough. I use optical(toslink).

I bought one for my parents lounge room T.V. Obviously much better than the T.V. speakers but not mind-blowingly great. I would never have paid $200 for it. I wouldn't pay $149 for it. $99 is a fairly reasonable ask.

        • fully agree, nuf said :P

      • It might also be worth noting that the remote for this is pretty flimsy. It isn't unusable, just small, light and cheap.

  • I think this Blaupunkt model is better buying. Wireless Sub, 100w and Bluetooth

  • have you tried this one? Can't find any reviews, I've just started looking and the "expert" told me I would have to spend $500 to get anything decent. I'm no audiophile.

    • Your "expert" is right, however this unit (and most of the similar add-ons) is miles ahead of the TV's inbuilt speakers. I bought my bro a Bauhn unit which didn't last much past the warranty -but it sounded great while it lasted!

  • I bought this for my desktop. It's awesome for $99.

You could go buy a BOSE/Sonos one for >$800….

  • Looks cheap, not the polished look of today's sound bars. I looked at it in store and it didn't inspire confidence.

    • when you buy it at $99 it was cheap, most other soundbars I see cost $200 and up (at least not looking cheap!). At $150 your better waiting :)
