Add $80 to upgrade to Nexus 5, with FULL HD screen, latest Android 4.4, more powerful CPU, double the RAM, and Larger 5 inch screen.

    • True. But every $80 counts :-)

Very weak defence rep, for OZbargainers every dollar or even cent counts, but that's the calculation on our spending rather than listed saving.

        • Difference is important when you haven't got it !

True again, best method to save is to not buy.
I'm not defending the price, since I'm the "rep" for PriceSlice.com.au, the site that brings you price tracking information, when you need it.

About the phone though, maybe it's worth mentioning this: I do use a Nexus 5, after a Galaxy Nexus.
From my experience, can't tell the full hd display on the N5 compared to the 1280x720 on the GNex.
I can however feel the difference in CPU power, the quad core N5 flies compared to the dual core Gnex.
Maybe the larger RAM and higher clock also help.
But not having a microsd slot is as annoying as before, with all the Google phones. Same for the P2, unfortunately.

So, if you don't need the extras on the N5, the P2 is a decent choice. And you can throw the $80 at a Nokia for the kids :-)

      • Rep, I am waiting for an android deal but, this one doesn't do it..
It doesn't even beat the Nexus 4 at 250$.

I've had a poor experience with Huawei before, so thank you but I'll wait for another deal, and I want to buy two phones for around 600

        • Sony Xperia SP? Similar dollars to the Huawei.

With N5 out there on the market, $250+ can hardly be classified as "cheap" for mid-range android phones.

Particularly given the $99 Huawei G526 DSE deal a few weeks ago. There's not particularly a huge amount of difference between the two Huaweis.

        Screen: 540 x 960 pixels, 4.5 inches
Memory: 4 GB, 1 GB RAM
        Camera: 5 MP
        CPU: Dual-core 1.2 GHz

        Define huge? :-)))

        • only the price, $99 vs $319

      • I sold my $99.00 Huawei G526 for a $199.00 Huawei P1. Now I am very happy to my choice. The much thinner and lighter Huawei P series phone is so good to be one hand controlled and feels almost nothing in the pocket. To a $249.00 nexus 4 and $319.00 Huawei p2, the only advantage of Nexus is 2GB Ram, nothing else. To the $359.00 S3 and $349.00 Huawei P6 from Dick Smith, definitely, Huawei P6.

Now there's even less chance of sales from this deal, People can get a Samsung Galaxy S3 $359 @ OW - Limited Stock Pickup..

PS: I like PriceSlice so Rep you are doing a good job. But you might need to update your prices for the S3 to 359 , price slice still shows it over 400.

  • Who asked for a cheaper Android?

    I did, and I got the Huawei G526 for $99 last month…

  • I would say 16 GB Moto G for $250 USD shipped is the best phone ever
