Was curious and decided to check whether the price was going to drop down for the AUS google play store, and lo and behold it has!

Maybe a good time to grab it now, for only a $1.

Also Woolies will have 10% off Google Play Gift Cards (like iTunes card for App store, except for Play store purchases) starting Wed 4th and ending 10th Dec

Hope it is of benefit to some out there!

    Does anyone know if this manages Podcasts as well?

    The only player that currently does this well is Rocket Player, but I'm not keen on the interface.

      I don't use podcasts, but it's not a function I've ever noticed in Poweramp I'm sorry to say.

      Nah, it doesn't do podcasts (at least when I used it, before Spotify).
      I use BeyondPod for that, it's great.

    Not often u see so many user reviews slanted so heavily in favour of the app at 5 stars.

    For $1 its worth the gamble folks.

    Bought it for $4 and it's an awesome player even at that price (Telstra 66% off PlayStore credit though). I don't regret paying extra for being able to use this awesome player the last few months.

    It's main feature for me was a great lock screen widget, minimal impact to battery life and the way it organises music automatically. No need to unlock to change tracks/albums was probably the main draw point and it works a charm.

    The only gripe I have with it is if you get into the program (while music is playing or not) and hit the back button, then it goes back to the home screen. The user must get into the program, select the currently playing song, and then press the back button to go back to album/artist selection.

    In short, if you don't have it, get it.

      i think playerpro has a better looking graphical interface which is less functional
      i use poweramp because it has much better sound

    Poweramp is the only app I've ever purchased, good functionality, light and manages my music library as I'd expect. Definitely recommend if you listen to music on your phone.

    I use doubletwist which handles music and podcast. Has anyone tried both and feel this one is better.

    Does it play music from Media Server (Twonky, etc.) on a NAS ?
    Can't seem to find the information on the description and the screenshots.

      I cant seem to make it work for playing media on Samba share. It doesnt seem to have any sort of network discovery thing, but that might just be me. You can however use other apps, to access those locations, and then play music from those apps using poweramp, but its not an optimal solution.

    I'm looking for a music player with visualizations, and displays lyrics which highlights the line being sung by the singer at the time. Unfortunately none of the playstore music players have these features. Can't really get why poweramp is so popular.
