MasterNoob… Hmmmm. /scratches chin
Are those these ones?

Still overpriced
An overpriced poor sounding pair of headphones isn't a bargain, I'm afraid. You're just not getting ripped off as much.
Too many people on the hate train that haven't tried a pair but just associate them with dooshbaggery because of the brand/style.
The studios actually sound great and this is a really good price for them. I personally wouldn't buy a set partly due to the hate train, but to say they are bad headphones and over priced at this pricepoint is just not true.
Look yourself sir. http://www.head-fi.org/products/beats-studio-by-dr-dre-hi-de…
Those are the ANC wireless Studio model, different headphones and everyone knows active noise cancelling destroys quality.
EDIT:
I thought the original link was for the wired ones without ANC, turns out the David Jones ones are the wireless with ANC.
I've heard them, and I've also heard the ATH-M50s. The M50s blow this out of the water. Some say that beats have amazing bass. They don't. The bass (esp sub-bass) is muddy and unclear. If you would like your music drowned out by bass, go for it. If you prefer to hear controlled, distinct bass, I would suggest you look elsewhere.
I own the M50s but would like to add to the discussion that the Beats have a lot of handy features I think AudioTechnica should have incorporated into their design:
But a great pair of headphones that can be had for about $50 less than the Studios.
you can get proper headphones for much cheaper than this.
"proper headphones" haha I love it how the experts that haven't used them always know the most
You're on ozbargain, item price is #1, brand and style come later. There are just some posts you know are going to be good for discussion, beats is one of them
Exactly, my post for this weekend has the Hifiman HE-300 at US$150. http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/124947
Anyone will be crazy to buy this instead of the HE-300. Just look at the cable you get for the HE-300.
$150US + $17.50US shipping. These are cheaper
3 meter silver cable, detachable cable design, beautiful dedicated storage box, lots of metal part in construction and build quality, probably one of the best sounding headphones under $200. Go ahead and get the Beats if you still prefer it. I have tried the Beats and I know what I'll choose.
*edit: Double commented
Beats by Dr Dre & Justin Bieber, they should be together.
along with lady gaga, miley cyrus, ugh …and our local barney - lara bingle
some gaga's songs are very good, far better than Bieber and others'
We take all these haters and rough them up, lay in the cut like we don't give a farrrrrrrkkkk. ;)
Some of us like our mainstream pop and buy headphones cause they look hot and don't care about sound quality. What are you gonna do? Keep hating?
some gaga's songs are very good
no, no they are not, you have just not realised how over autotuned and rubbish they really are…
What are you gonna do? Keep hating?
yep, pretty much… haters gotta hate
I cannot in good conscience recommend these headphones, even if they are discounted.
This guy knows his stuff
look, here's my 2 cents on the whole beats thing. I never had an opinion of them other that they were too pricey, and decided there was no way I would spend that money on a pair of headphones, especially if there were cheaper options that were as good or better. and i stuck to that; i didn't buy any beats. someone bought them for me.
Not having spent a dime on them, I think they're really great headphones and look okay (although, mine are a limited edition version of Pro's, so sound is better than this, and are entirely black without an obvious Beats logo on the ear). But I would also say that it IS true that for the price, better headphones can be bought, and these are only popular because of mass marketing. particularly product placement in music videos.
that said, Beats 'hate' is unnecessary. If someone wants to spend the money on it, well, that's their choice. certainly not one that I'd make, but their choice nonetheless. and so I don't mind these deals, because it means the choice to make beats is proportionately less silly according to the degree that it is discounted, as it becomes less overpriced.
I am in the same boat as you and agree 100%. This is one of thew few comments in the thread that adds to the conversation, well done.
Read all the comments again and you'll see that no one said anything hateful about Beats. No one actually neg the deal. They only point out that Beats at this price is not even a bargain. It is the pro Beats guys that seem to be insulted. It's not just that there are better value for money headphones out there, the Beats actually sound bad. Like you say, it is their choice. That is why I don't neg the deal too. I am off to buy a second pair of headphones this weekend. I am getting the Hifiman HE-300.
At $399, overpriced, but under $200 good value headphones.
We are doing all headphones excluding Bose, bower and Wilkins and Bang & Olufsen. The best deal you can get is the senhiser momentum down from $399 for $279.3.
so what are some other decent headphone deals you got going
How much are the Beats Solo HDs?
$181
Try the beats pro at Harvey Norman, it sounds much better than the studio. Too expensive me though at $499.
there are a lot of good products at that price point and lower. None with an artists name associated for extra price
It states sold out too…. so this is in shop only.
Am I going to be popular at school if I wear these?
the UE6000 @ 99 was a much better deal, the battery lasts for a long time with the NC / bass function.
love mine
I bet all the haters are also android users.
No concept of style…
People must buy these without listening to them first, they lack clarity, detail and the bass is muddy. Stay away!
Wow great deal!
