Panasonic Lumix DMC GH3 16.05 MP Camera (now 1 year old but still top of the range for video)

$698 USD need to add to cart to see final price.
Unbelievable price as this camera is still sold here for $1499

It looks like Cybermonday is coming early and hitting hard….

Mirror-less cameras have been gaining a lot of popularity over the year.
The GH3 is arguably the best stills & video camera for video out there at the moment. Slap a manual focus vintage lens on this camera for a couple of hundreds bucks and you can take on Steve Spielberg…

Buy it and then wait for the hack and the video quality will go through the roof!

Sounds great, except that it doesn't ship to Australia…

Edit: Ok, I found that Sammy's Camera (the store doing the deal on Amazon) also have the same deal on Ebay, where they do priority international shipping for $50 USD. Total came to $790.39 AUD via Paypal.

    • Dammit, all gone. I should have bitten the bullet last night.

  • I wouldn't expect the hack to become reality any time soon, but stock setting is good enough.

    Regarding the hack:

  • If it's from the US, that means it's NTSC?

    • Yep, it'll be 24/60 instead of 25/50 fps. However, the NTSC camera can record as long as you have the SDHC space, whilst the PAL is capped at 29 minutes a recording for some reason.

The aforementioned hack might change that, and let you change your camera's region, but given the $400 off and the fact that the difference between pal/ntsc is not as crucial as it once was, it's still a good deal.

      • The <30 minute limitation is for European models. A genuine Australian model is not limited to 30 minutes.

  • That is an insanely good price.

  • It reads $984 for me.

    • Yeah, the deal has expired. I think they had a very limited number of units at that price.

      • .
I think it was one of those Amazon Black Friday deals (which don't seem to always happen on a Friday)

        pity it expired :(
