PlayStation Network announcement

We are aware that users are experiencing some disruption to the PSN service. To minimise the inconvenience we have suspended the “redeem voucher” functionality whilst we investigate further. Unfortunately this means that money cards, product vouchers, PlayStation Plus vouchers, PS3-PS4 upgrade vouchers and any other vouchers for digital content are not redeemable at this stage. Other PSN features such as log-in, online multi-player gaming, PlayStation Plus trial, PS Store (excluding voucher redemption), trophies, messages, friends etc. are all available.
We apologise and will provide an update to this announcement soon.

    • Doh, it sure pays to read all the comments. I'm just doing this for the first time and bought $50 from Amazon for PSN credit. Maybe it will be available through the PSN store…

  • sorry if its already posted, but was there a site for generating fake US addresses?

    • Google Maps.
Just go to Delaware (no sales tax) pick a street and a number.
Choose the phone number of a local business.

  • has this started yet??

    • And we're off.
      Please read the original posting.
It is just as easy for you to check yourself by clicking on the Amazon link provided, there are no secrets here, I made it very simple to help yourself.

I tried to make it as clear as possible, and even added this part at the end

      "For the blind it starts:
      Nov 29 US time
      Nov 29 US time
      Nov 29 US time
      Nov 29 US time
      Nov 29 US time"

I am kind of having a go at you as I knew there would be a constant stream of ARE WE THERE YET questions by people that either can't read or a too slack to click on the links provided.
      Hopefully it stops with you.

For anyone who can't figure out how to find what time this deal goes live….

It starts at 6pm AEST and 7pm AEDT tonight!!!

    • Thanks..:)

    • +1

Ah, so it's Midnight Pacific Time
      Midnight Pacific Time
      Midnight Pacific Time
      Midnight Pacific Time
      Midnight Pacific Time
How'd you find that out? Was looking everywhere…

Do you know when it ends?

      • An Amazon Rep confirmed it on another gaming site. Just brace yourselves in case this is all a hoax but fingers crossed that it's not.

        • What would be a hoax about this?

  • Its after 6pm and still listed as $50 :(

    • -2

      .

  • lol funny when clock strikes 7 and still nothing

  • where is it?

    • Not sure…

The site hasn't slowed, so maybe we have the wrong time zone.

I can't see the deal on the site anywhere at the moment.

  • Did someone get the time conversion wrong?
Also I did not see anywhere what time it starts in America.

    • na if you google US time. Its 12 at LA already. unless they go with hawaii time, which is a bit weird~

    • The timezone difference is correct and Amazon already have the sale as active but the price has not changed.

      • even the sony playstation page still showing as 49.99. that's probably amazon still hasn't changed the price yet

  • Once it hits $30, can I buy this with a AU credit card?

    • Yes, I have bought PSN Credit from here before with my Australian Card

  • Guys, according to the holiday deal page at Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=node%3D8021566011…), the deal is already on. However, I'm not seeing it on the "1-Year PlayStation Plus Membership - PS3/ PS4/ PS Vita [Digital Code]" page. Is this only limited to customers who are currently in the US?

    • Nah mate, they're having issues too. No one can buy it atm, not sure why. Just have to wait I suppose.

    • nope still $49 even through US

  • Could the price change as you add it?
I tried adding it to check but it wants me to put my card details in and I am not game to see if it shows on the next screen or not just in case after the card details screen it pays for it.

  • As an Aussie will paying with PayPal stuff things up ?

    • +3

      No PayPal on Amazon

  • +1

I got to the payment confirmation screen and it was still $49 so it's not a matter of going to the next screen. It hasn't rolled over to $29 for some reason

  • Im freaking out!!!

  • $29.99 t bestbuy.com, sold out online

  • It's up, guys. Grab it while it's hot.

  • Live on Amazon… How are you guys paying for it :(

    • Just bought mine with mastercard(aussie address)be sure to change/make ur amazon address a usa address so the system thinks ur a murican (i used the bellagio hotel in vegas)then change it back afterwards.
      Too EZY!!

  • worked fine - got my two

  • Got my two. PS4 doesn't come until December. Planning ahead =)

  • I tried redeeming straight away but got told invalid code. Waited 5minutes and then they worked!

  • I got an error 80023102 when trying to redeem from outside of the US. The account is a US account though. A google search showed that it has something to do with my credit card's billing address, which does not exist since I'm redeeming a prepaid card and I did not tie my account to a credit card. Anyone out there with the same situation?

    • change your shipping address to US. I used shipito.com address..:p

      • Thanks, but what shipping address? I'm already past the purchasing from Amazon phase. I'm now trying to redeem the code on my PS3. At the very least I know the codes are valid.

        • Just wait and try. Error will be solved ASAP;)

        • How long should we wait after purchase to redeem?

        • Did you get a resolution on this?

I've created a US account using a Delaware address as my residential address, but it is insisting on credit card details and doesn't like any of mine.

        • Ok, turns out it was Sony having insufficient server capacity

  • Got my 2 thanks really happy can u buy more then 2 ?

  • got my codes but get error E-8200012F

  • OK, so Error 82000*** looks like a timeout error. I sat there forever retyping it and it eventually went through.

I recommend people use the PS4 app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.scee.psxan…) as it will take many attempts. (the app lets you use your phone as the keyboard!)

Now, does anyone know if codes stack… If I use two yearly passes today, will it cover me for two years?

    • Yes they stack :)

  • Thank you Amazon!!

Grabbed Batman origins, battlefield 4 and PS+ until 2016!!!

  • Unable to redeem on PC, is the only way to redeem the Amazon code directly via the console.

  • does Amazon post ps4 games to Australia ?

    • A lot of games they do ship here. Although shipping is kind of expensive.

  • hey i need some help. So my old playstation acc was AU. When i made a new account which is suppose US, i restored my device to unlink the AU acc from my vita. But now when i use my US account, it says my memory card is linked to my old account. I really want the saves from my card. I backed up the memory card but when i restore, it says theres nothing to restore. Anyone know how to deal with this?

    • You cannot transfer saves between accounts if that is what you are asking. If I understand correctly you are attempting to restore a backup made with account 1 over account 2, this simply will not work. save files and restore files are locked to the PlayStation account they were created with.

If you want to continue playing with your saves the only option is to login & play with your old account, otherwise start again on your new account.

  • Easy as! Just created a US address in Delaware, used my regular Aus CC but associated it with the US address for 1 click payments, paid and got my code. Then set up a new US account on my PS3 (helpful hint: plug a USB keyboard in and it makes the process a whole lot easier), redeemed my code and grabbed all the free games from PS+.

Cheers OP, you are a star:)

  • 28 Degrees card didn't work, just swapped cards and it was all dandy. Cheers!

    • hmm mine worked fine. after conversion it's about $33.

      • Weird, tried it twice - gave me some error about the codes only being available to the US. So I just changed cards, and it was all good. Bought two and have them up and running - just waiting for Borderlands 2 to come up next month and I'll have half my cost back.

  • edit: ignore

  • No problems here with 28 degrees

  • Purchased with the above settings, changed my account to US address and such, keep getting error "Code not correct or may not be valid" I have sent an email to amazon telling them this so hopefully they can fix me up with a new code shortly..

Will try again in the morning Currently 12:30am :)

  • Hello,

I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused in this regards.

I understand that you're unable to redeem your 1-Year PlayStation Plus Membership - PS3/ PS4/ PS Vita Digital Code. We're aware about this issue and already reported it to Sony and it seems that Sony is currently having issues with the PlayStation Network that is impacting customers in redeeming PlayStation Codes and they are working on taking care of this issue.

I'd request you to try redeeming the codes after some time. Rest be assured that I'll be personally following up with you on this issue and I'll write back to you as soon as we get an update from Sony.

Your patience and understanding is highly appreciated in this matter. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

    Wow what a repose !

  • Hey I am yet to have an AU or US psn account, so i am curious, what happeneds if I have both?

Can you redeem and AU and US account on the same console?

By the sounds of things your game saves are stuck to that account AND when you play online your directed to US servers then back to Australia = lag, plus the games are meant to be better in AUS region for psn+, so for $20 is it really worth having shitty laggy online gaming and less psn+ tittles to choose from?

    • I have two accounts on my PS3. One called AU and the other US.
You can transfer save games between accounts if you want.
If you really want to play the game online, buy it locally and use your AU account.

I am not sure if having a US account forces you to the US servers, but if it does having the two account should fix that.

    • Thanks for that. I was wondering why I couldn't redeem it.

  • This deal was buried since it was posted, only discovered it now by accident ! cheers used shipit address and got the code !

  • Bought with no issues but lots of comments on Amazon that PSN not holding up. Am not in a rush to redeem as my AU Plus is valid till Dec and this credit is valid till Dec 31.
Might end up going with US PSN going forward rather than having both although it'd be a shame to lose access to games already downloaded this year from AU PSN.

  • Bought 2 only one code worked on the first go, other one comes up with 80023102 error code continuously. :-(

  • Nice ..bought 2 for total USD 55, got $5 discount on the second card. Got battlefield 4 as well…. very nice…

  • +3

For those people who bought more than one code, don't redeem them all now.
Wait for PSN to offer a 15 months for the price of 12 months deal and redeem them then and you will get 15 months instead of 12.

    • Will AU Account vouchers for 12 months work this way too when they offer 3 months extra free for AU PSN accounts ?

    • Really? I thought that's only when you buy the subscriptions directly through Sony?

      • People on other forums have been saying this has worked in the past.
You can either enter all your vouchers now and not worry about it, or wait for a 15 for 12 deal and see if it works.

I would be confirming how long the vouchers are valid for first. I would assume a few months at least.

        • Comment from eyew above would suggest the credit is valid until December 31. If this is true, I would not wait too long, just in case you forget about it and it expires.

        • Yes it would be good if someone can confirm expiry date for the amazon vouchers I was planning on waiting to use them

  • Hey Guys, Thankyou for the deal :) amazing haha.

What is this deal with activation your console etc? I have my U.S Account/ Aus account on the device and have "activated" the ps4 with both of them. I am wondering if I should just activate the U.S one, but will I be able to play online on my AU account? and just use the U.S ones to buy games, will the AU account then be able to play them?

  • For those of you with a real US address, Walmart still has this price available.
I think they are physical cards, so you will need someone to receive them and trust them to send you the cards or email the codes through.

  • Anyone been able to activate theirs yet ? Saw some posts of success on Amazon but still getting "Error has occurred" message.

  • Yep. Don't go through the PS Store.
From your XMB do the following

PSN -> Account Management -> Redeem Codes

That works fine, but activating it through the PS Store has been disabled for now. Go figure.

    • what about redeemed first code OK but redeem second one gives 80023102 error?

      • +1

I would just wait for them to fix all the issues first.
you have one year to get it right and amazon will help you out if it's not sorted out soon.

        • Thanks! Hopefully the code doesn't expire, so we can wait for the extra 3 months deals :)

        • +1

          Codes don't expire

        • +1

I did read somewhere that the codes expire in 2023, so we have a bit of time :-)

  • Got mine working, had to make a USA psn account but that was easy :)

Downloading around 20gb worth of free games at the moment :) pretty pleased I think it's good value for $30 !

  • QUESTION

If you have a US+ and AU+ can you download the same game twice on your PS3 Hard Drive one for the US account and the other for the AU+ account and are both versions of the game the same whether you download from the US store or AU Store ? :)

    • +1

Mostly the same, but not always.
Example, my Saints Row 3 game file (Aus disc) would not work with the US PS+ version, but did work with the Aus PS+ version.

Apart form situations like that, unless there has been content removed for Aus, like Saints Row 4, then the games are the same.

So yes, you can download the same game twice, but there should be no reason to do so.

      • Tyvm :)

      • Tyvm :)

  • I'd had a change of heart, and don't want to lose my vita games, so I think I'll stick with Australia PSN. Does anyone want to buy my codes off me? I'm not looking to make a profit. Send me a message if you're interested.

    • I'm interested in one. For some reason it's not letting me message you, so pm me if you can ? thanks :)

      • Yeah I can't seem to either. jonathan at cox dot cx if you want to email me
