Great price. I recommend getting the Complete Collexion for $8.
On the Bohemia Intereactive page, one can purchase Steam and non-Steam versions .The Fade protection in non-Steam versions is larger based around serial numbers - if crackers try to bypass the serial check, all of these game degrading triggers are acrtivated, like extremely inaccuracte gunfire from your own weapons and 100% accurate super sniper enemies :(

My Steam version lets me load up the game without Steam running. Used DayZ commander back in the day to launch straight into servers and just assumed that it didn't use Steam DRM.
