Cheap/decent tablet?

I'm looking to buy a cheap but decent tablet (must have rear facing camera) mostly for reading pdfs, surfing the net, the occasional typing docs and google play store (wanting a specific app)
Preferably 10 inch in size but 7 is fine.
Would love any suggestions please, I am hoping to get it for christmas

    Nexus 7 is $250-300 ish, not sure if that is cheap for you, but I went from an iPad 3rd gen to one and I LOVE it, great size, really fast and nice screen

    The words cheap and Nexus 7 always go together. If you don't really care for performance or screen resolution, snap up a 2012 one, which are below $150 these days, deals on OzBargain quite regularly for them.

    Chiming in to agree with the above comments. For the price you pay and the specs on the Nexus 7, it really is a good deal.

    Nexus 7 2012 doesnt have rear facing camera.

      True, so looks like Nexus 2013 is the best deal. It's not the cheapest tablet out there, but you get what you pay for. You can get the 16GB version for $250 on Amazon or wait for a deal to come around on OzBargain.

    I bought a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8" from this one: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/117912

    But pricematched with OW for $236.55. I like that it's 8 inches, there's a rear camera… performance is ok, but again for the price you get what you pay for. I am waiting for the 2014 Note 10.1, and needed this to tide me until then. So if you can keep an eye out for it to come to this price or lower again, I think it's a good option.

      I should probably also say that I think you get more bang for your buck with the Nexus, but when I went to play with one I didn't quite like the size.. I have a Note 2 and so wanted to go for something slightly bigger, but didn't want to spend extra for a whole 10". But also I don't like the idea of non-expandable storage, and the SGT3 8" has a micro-sd slot.

      So it might be a bit of personal preference for you. It's easy to go into a store and play with both and see which one you prefer.
