  • I was burnt by Amazon on the last SSD deal…not sure if I should try again

    • +1

      what happened?

    • +8

Hope you're not talking about that grossly mispriced samsung ssd.

      • +5

Haha, I recall that Samsung SSD "deal". We all know it was a mistake and tried our luck anyway but didn't get it at the end. Anyone who think they were mistreated for that deal must be deluded and idiotic.

        • "must be deluded and idiotic"
Don't neg people for saying this. This isn't primary school where you have to think about the feelings of others, it's the bloody truth and is hardly an insult.

        • No idea why he got negged for that post, +1

  • +3

Price is A$176.47 at final checkout. Delivery is Dec 4 to 16.

  • Whats the difference between the "drive only" and "reseller kit"?

    • +4

Whatever happened to googling a question?

Reseller kit includes the mount, cable, screws, and maybe an "intel inside" sticker or something.

  • is this backwards compatible with SATA2 ports like the Samsung EVO?

    • +1

Yes it's backwards compatible with SATA2 ports like all other SATA3 SSD drives are.

  • It's down to US$149.99. Not sure how long it's gonna last at this price. Buy first think later :D

  • bought one, luckily only bought one evo and not two from shopping express yesterday

  • Anyone know if this is a better SSD compared to the Samsung 840 (Pro or EVO) series?

  • I think it is a price error. If you click on the 360GB model then click back on the 240GB model the price goes up to $199.99

    • But oddly when I add it to my cart is still says $149.00

    • that's for the drive only not the reseller kit.

    • It's not a pricing error. This SSD resellers kit is on Amazon deal of the day (up to 40% off DIY computer components). But surprisingly this SSD is at 50% off.

    • You mean this?. As been said that's the drive only and you'll find the ASIN is a different number than the resellers kit which is what's on the Amazon deal of the day. Also has a different model number. You must have accidentally clicked on the Drive Only button.

  • will this work in a 2011 Macbook Pro 15"?

  • Ordered. Great price for a good SSD.

  • Ordered - have been wanting to finally get an SSD to speed up software dev work, so I've got myself an early Xmas present. :) Thanks for the tip!

  • How does it compare with a Plextor $168 for 256GB? http://msy.com.au/product.jsp?productId=10290

    • Its MUCH better! and has 5 years warranty

  • Thanks OP. Been waiting for a while. Finally got one. Well worth the wait :) !

  • Thanks OP. Ordered one!

  • Thanks OP.

  • how do we get free shipping its showing up as Shipping & handling: AUD $10.79 for me!

    • I think the price in the title includes the standard shipping fee.

      • +1

Well the total price is AU$176.47 at final checkout so the OP should change it from $169.68 as that's the wrong total.

  • Thanks OP. Ordered one!

  • I reckon the samsung evo 250gb from shoppingexpress for $177 was a better deal.
Similar quality but evo is faster..?
    Does anyone second that?

    • +1

Nope. Intel has 5yrs warranty and uses MLC. I believe this is more reliable and will last alot longer.

For a home user, there won't be much of a difference that you will notice.

  • I bought both but if I had the option I'd buy two intel's

  • its now 188 delivered for me.

  • Oh yeah it's now $178.99 USD + delivery. Deal is over folks. No longer on the deal of the day. Move along folks nothing to see here.

  • It's $169.99 now.

    • Prices are fluctuating. Is now $199.13 AUD delivered. As i said the deal is over.

  • +1

I ordered an extra one so if anyone in Canberra would like one for AUS$170 please message me.

    • now why would you do that? lol

      • To save a few extra bucks on shipping lol. Was looking for something else to buy but couldn't find it so just threw an extra one in. I'm sure I'll find something to do with it if I can't sell it.
