Likewise I have had games say "ready to pickup" for quite awhile now and no signs of it being posted.

      • +3

Call them? Do you really think that would help? How many people have called them over the past two weeks?

        • +1

Well I called them last week (as 2 of my games were "ready for pickup") and asked them about them and they were happy to post them out that day.

Calling them is certainly not going to HARM your cause.

        • +7

TGG are well aware of this forum and are actually reading all our posts! If they were proactive enough they would actually message us and fix it so we would all stop complaining. Instead they are monitoring and reporting our posts and accusing us of abusing staff members. I am more here for entertainment but i can see why people are annoyed too!

I have yet to receive any games or calls or the status of the 5 ps3 games i ordered.

  • +1

Unexpectedly received 3 of my games this morning. Pilotwings Resort, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon and Resistance 3.

If it helps I used the Guest checkout at around 9AM the morning of the sale, and other than the mass emails and an initial order confirmation I've had no other contact from GG.

    Luigi U still on backorder.

    • They can always get them from EBgames or JBHIFI, they are just choosing not to source them.

      • +1

Depends - they still need to be new games, TGG aren't a licenced second-hand dealer like EB and JB (and we didn't order second-hand games either). It's a legal requirement that a store be licenced to buy & sell second-hand goods.

      • +4

You dont source games from retailers, you source them from suppliers, not to mention retailers are not willing to supply the competition, and if they did it would be at RRP.

    • +7

So glad that some of my fellow Ozbargainers are getting their orders.
      Very good feeling indeed .

  • +8

Still waiting for something to happen. Received 0/9 games. My only phone call was to let me know, well…nothing.

I will be alot more careful now when purchasing online. A company that ignores consumer complaints and promotes social media whitewashing is simply not trustworthy.

    So Good Guys…
    …why did this mess happen?
…why did you take our money?
    …why do you deceive us?
    …why the cover up?
…why don't we get the truth?

Good Guys had no intention of helping customers on the OzBargain forum. If they did, they would have sent a Customer Service rep / manager, and not a social media strategist.

    • +6

I know this might sound a bit weird but like i mentioned earlier I'm pretty sure they are exhausting their suppliers and stock for the games. Sending preowned games and stuff is pretty desperate and that's a good thing. After all they are a business, they don't want to make a lot of a loss but also want to uphold their reputation. Their games were 10 bucks each but 7 bucks for shipping does show they are seriously trying to supply us the games. I totally agree with you that they stuffed up but they are trying, after all ozb is only a portion of their sales, the game sale was nabbed up by heaps of others outside as well (imagine all the brodens LOL). I'm pretty much in the same situation, no games at all but I'm trying to call them every few hours (even though it's the same reply). So if you can, wait it out and there would be a chance something will come.

      • +2

This is a good and unbiased summary of the situation. Let's just hope that those of us who haven't received anything at least come away with 1 game. At this stage I'd be content with that, especially if I'm offered a gift card as well.

  • +4

I wonder if they can compensate us with the $40 gift cards first while we are waiting for them to source more games from suppliers to keep us calm for now.

    • Yeah, I want to go get the nexus 7 tablet deal :D

      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/123352?page=7#comment-17056…

I was told when they called me, on Saturday the 23rd, that they were sending me out a giftcard REGARDLESS of whether or not my order is fulfilled, and that I'd receive it within 3-5 business days, which I assumed meant that they had sent me it and I had to wait for it to come.

No word of that since. Communication is just so all over the place.

      • +1

I wasn't even offered a gift card, nor an eta on my purchases.

        Worst customer experience ever.

      • I was told the vouchers will be emailed. The guy I spoke to said it would happen if they weren't able to supply everything in the order.

I received Pokémon White Version 2 today (by post not courier). I'm happy I received this title for $10 and if they can't supply the rest I won't be too unhappy - although it would be great to receive the Kid Icarus game as well. Hoping they email the vouchers this week as I'd like to use it before Christmas.

      • that last email kind of implied that if your order was cancelled you would get a gift card. So i guess that means they have changed that part of their story.

      • First call I got (Thursday 21st) said I'd get a $20 card because they couldn't fulfill Pokemon SoulSilver. Second call (Monday 25th) said I'd get a $40 card whether they could fulfill it or not, and that they were still unsure if they could fulfill SoulSilver. Third call (Saturday 30th, which I suspect I only got because I kept annoying them) told me they were still looking for SoulSilver and would hopefully know by the end of this week, but there was no mention of a gift card at all, let alone how it would be sent. I also didn't get that second email everyone seems to have got over the weekend with the list of FAQs or whatever it was.

I got an email on Saturday afternoon saying my other two games (Pokemon Black 1 and White 2) had been dispatched from Moorabbin, but SoulSilver still shows up as backordered in my account page on TGG site. Hoping I get my two games tomorrow (postie's already been past today).

If/when I get my gift card and use that (provided they have anything I actually want to buy, which keeps looking less and less likely), I doubt I'll be shopping with TGG again.

        • A courier delivered unit 13 and resistance to my door. So it may not be a postie that will give you a visit! Yeah im wondering if i will even get a giftcard now (still got 5 games i havent heard about)

        • I didn't receive that second email either.

I wish they would advise which titles they have been able to source. It's getting closer to Christmas and I need to know if I should be shopping elsewhere for the rest of my son's games.
If they aren't supplying anything else on my order I need to chase up that refund and gift card.

        • +1

UPDATE: 10 minutes after I posted, a Star Track Express truck pulled up lol I now have Pokemon Black 1 and White 2 :) Hopefully everyone else who's ordered them gets theirs soon. Both games are factory sealed.

The invoice also lists SoulSilver as still being on backorder.

        • I've asked someone rather high up if they could source soul silver and they said they couldn't find any.

        • +1

Yeah, the guy I talked to on Saturday said they hadn't heard back from the supplier yet for those two Pokemon Games (HG/SS). I'd be surprised if anyone gets Heart Gold or Soul Silver at all.

        • +1

I don't really care about my other games I ordered such as the wii ones. Just hoping I can get those pokemon :)

  • I just called them and they said they're waiting for my Gold Heart before they ship out my Black and Black 2. Lol. My other order had Luigi, Metallica Guitar Hero and Professor Layton DS are still all on back order.

  • +3

Is there anyone here that has received a Heart Gold or Soul Silver? Can't see a single success story.

  • +5

Yay, I finally received the first game, Halo 4, from my order (of 3 games). The game is unsealed with a yellow $79 sticker on the front, an 'All Interactive' sticker on the back and a printed 'Sold' sticker with my name on it.

The discs and case are in perfect condition and it is an AU copy. I'm very pleased that I won't walk away empty handed. While their customer service, and the way they have handled the situation, has been poor… they are trying to deliver on the outstanding orders, when they could have easily refunded everyone. So props for that.

  • +5

Just rang the Good Guys, I was initially told some of my games would be getting sent out and when I rang today asking they told me every single game is on back order and none will be getting sent out. What an absolute joke!!!!!!!

Apparently I either wait it out or I can ask for a refund but it will take a week to refund. ( Although it has been two weeks already and they took my money within 24 hours.

    What an absolute joke!!!!

    • +2

I tried to ring them again - was on hold for ages so gave up.

    • Same with me, they have told me by the end of last week They should be able to dispatch. Just off the phone with TGG and still in back order probably end of this week or longer until they have finished consolidating all orders

    • I got this too, currently I'm back to 0/7 even though I've got one on the list and was personally guaranteed 2/7 including Luigi.

      • Postage will take longer as we get towards christmas as well.

  • +1

I also just called them and was told that they are waiting to find out from the suppliers if they can source anymore stock before sending any of my games. The guy said they would know by the end of the week.

    • +10

Isn't that what they said last week?

      • +1

They told me they would let me know what was happening on Friday (they didn't).

So this is slightly different :)

Also, no mention of the gift card until i asked. And the person i spoke to didn't know about it.

    • I got told similar; all of mine (Soul Calibur 4, Burnout Paradise, Forza 4 & RE: Operation Raccoon City) are on backorder and I should wait till the end of the week.

  • I got a few 3DS games delivered today from Nunawading (all new and sealed) via regular snail mail. I did receive an order update on Friday afternoon detailing what has been dispatched and what is on back order. All good - whatever happens happens. BTW I ordered at 6:45 am on the deal day.

Has anyone received their promised vouchers yet?

    • You got them sealed? Mine wasn't sealed at all. Are they AU or EU versions?

      • AU sealed versions.

  • +3

    Where are the bloody refunds?

    • +1

YEP, Agree. WHere is the refund?????????????

  • +3

Seems more and more people are turning to Facebook wall post atm

  • +8

I just got an email saying my 9 items have been despatched..I'm like yay finally. Rang to confirm and they're like really, all we know is 2 items have been despatched. I said when? I called you last night and was told everything is on backorder. She said hang on I'll check. We have 2 of your items, but they are probably holding off until we have your complete order. They haven't got a clue!!!
Oh yeah, found one of my items in store, on the shelf, 9 days after the sale went live. I said you guys were told to remove these from stock to fulfil orders. I got the store to put on hold, contacted the TGG rep to say, if this hasn't been allocated (which obviously it hadn't), could I have the item. The TGG rep told me they've escalated my request, twice over a few days, and I'm still hounding the store manager for the copy. Pretty poor that it's within my reach…so close.
    Halo 4 btw

  • +2

I'm seeing people having parcels left at their doorsteps. What happens if I live in a unit? I hope they don't just leave it at the letter box, it will almost be like "please take me" LOL

  • +3

Just spoke to TGG, here's the results:

    • Only the listed game is in transit
    • On Saturday I asked about Luigi U (has its own order by itself, 1 copy) and was told it is in transit under my name. Now its on full backorder with no stock available (me included) and that the employee made a major stuff up. - Honestly how could an employee make that much of a mistake, it would be impossible. Clearly TGG have reallocated stock to another person (lucky you if you're reading this). Also no copies of this game have been dispatched, however I'm sure I've seen someone claim they have received it.

    • GUARANTEED ALL GAMES in the sale will be able to be sourced at some point, just no ETA - hinting at around Feb-May next year (EB Games isn't far away…).

    • Used a guest account to place the orders, cannot get them linked to my new TGG account by phone.

The feeling on the phone was that they are genuinely trying their hardest to improve their image after the sale, hence the guarantee.

I'm annoyed that my game seems to have been reallocated without a proper explanation. I don't feel like I can trust the guarantee but I'll play nicely until I'm forced to take a refund.

    • WOW… FEB-MAY??? HAHAHAHA that's just… I think a vein in my head popped LOL Probably I would ask for a refund for all games except HG and SS.

      • +1

I'm thinking of the same, just getting a refund and wait for SS/HG

      • Maybe you should call an ambulance.

I should say that the hint was both implied by tone of voice and was more of an indefinite ETA possibly leading to sometime next year but Feb to May felt like the most accurate window I could put on it. Also keep in mind that I've had about four different employees speak to me, all with different stories.

Keep your orders if you feel patient enough, only cancel it if you find stock somewhere cheap or need the money back.

    • February to May NEXT YEAR. That's up to six months. Are they living on another planet?

  • +3

Feb-May next year? That's way past the time limit to do a Paypal dispute or credit card charge back?! Maybe GG are giving ridiculously long timeframes to get people to cancel their orders? Deliberate tactic?

    • +2

Or they want people to wait beyond the time frame so they can keep the money and not deliver the games?

    • +1

Note that the hint was implied by tone of voice with an indefinite ETA and there is conflicting information being given out. Just take it as it comes. Also a refund can be done directly through them anytime before you receive the games (as claimed by their employees).

I think they are trying to limit potential damages. If this was a deliberate tactic to cancel orders it could only hurt their image which they are trying to prevent.

      • +1

If they had another very good deal I think regardless of their reputation we would still buy from them. The danger for them (reputation wise) is that say I wanted to buy a tv and at TGG it was 400 bucks. At Harvey it was 400 as well but a little further away to get to the store. I would gladly go to harvey instead because of how TGG they have dealt with this deal and this is where they make most of their sales, not from huge clearances but from everyday buyers. The more everyday buyers they lose, the worse things will get.

  • TGG have removed the hotline from the website, anyone know the number?
Told my order was being sent out last week and still havent got anything <_<

    • +3

      1300 466 348

  • +1

If I don't recieve any word regarding my order by late next week I'll consider a paypal claim next saturday

  • +1

Still yet to get a call or receive any further info about my order. I wasn't expecting to get HeartGold or SoulSilver anytime soon by all the previous comments but I also ordered Wii Cricket. I can't imagine this game would have been in hot demand. WTF Good Guys…

    • Yea same… understand about pokemon but didn't think GTA chinatown wars for DS would be in hot demand either lol! Nothing yet for me either but my brother got a shipping confirmation yesterday for pokemon rumble from the Moorabin store…

  • +1

If you live in an apartment you should give them a call to check your address. Somehow their system had deleted my unit number on the order slip so even if they had games to post to me it would have been returned to sender. Anyone else had this problem with unit numbers??

    • I just put my unit number in the street field most of the time

    • Yep, I noticed this on the email that got sent out and gave them a call straight away.

    • Yes, I noticed this just as the package was about to be returned to sender, but gave the courier company a call and got it fixed up real quick.

  • +2

LOL! After speaking to them yesterday and they said nothing would be sent until end of week i just got a shipping email for 2 items (Lego City Undercover 3ds & Pokemon Mystery Dungeon)

Seems there's no point in calling them as no one knows what's going on.

    • I called them and they said they'll be sending what they can soon. They're not informed at all.

  • To be fair to TGG
They are doing great job at the moment as they are trying to get as many games as possible to fulfill the orders even though they are losing money for every single game they sending.( I think most fellow ozbargainers have received all or part of their orders in the last few days)

99.9% of other retailers will just cancel all orders .
Please be patient as even if you order from playasia/ amazon US/ zavvi you have to wait up to 6 weeks for delivery exception of Amazon UK( 2 weeks )
And $10 for top quality games?
We will not see any offer like this in the near future.
Hope and wish your receive your orders sooner
    Have a nice day all

    • +10

You think most ozbargainers have recieved part or all of their order ? Which thread you reading lol

      • Somebody should do a count in a Google Apps spreadsheet or something.

      • In case you've never heard, people with bad experiences are far more likely to whine on forums/to friends/etc than people who have good experiences.

I wouldn't take the amount of whining on this forum as any indication…

        • +1

That might usually be the case, but I don't think it applies to this situation. I know people who don't use ozbargain that have had similar experiences with this sale, as I'm sure many other people do too. It's inevitable that everyone's situation will be similar with such low stock for so many orders.

        • Well to be fair, Its only been just over 2 weeks (2 weeks 1 days) since the items went on sale.

If you were to order from WOW HD, Video Ezy, Blockbuster, Playasia, etc, etc, etc, then the communication is just as poor and you would be likely to only just be receiving your orders, but more often than not, you would receive them around 6 weeks later.

You also would not have been able to buy decent quality titles for $10. Let's also not forget that TGG are actually fulfilling the orders instead of cancelling them, and the only reason communication has ceased here is because of inappropriate behavior from a minority of forum members!

          Anyways… Carry On!

        • +7

To be fair that is expected from websites that don't sell local stock. TGG is a local bricks and mortar chain. They explicity mentioned 2-5 delivery time frames.

        • +1

"the only reason communication has ceased here is because of inappropriate behavior from a minority of forum members!"

I've read nothing on here that made me think TGG should cease communication, nor punish the majority of people on here who only want information. People are frustrated, sure, but that's to be expected.

        • You must have missed the part where forum members searched for the active TGG's rep's twitter account so they could dish some dirt in this thread… Unfortunately a few people spoil it for everyone else and now theres not a TGG rep in sight for at pages.

          :(

        • +3

Which makes no difference at all.

The previous rep just said something like "Oh? That's interesting, send an email"

    • +2

No mate, they are THE BAD GUYS.

When I received the phone call on the Thursday that my order would be cancelled, I said fine no problem. they said refund within a week. It has now almost been two weeks and no refund. I am chasing them around to get them to refund my money.

I would have started a charge back at my bank by now but it takes MONTHS before you see the money

  • Sweet, order dispatched > 1 out of the 13 games i ordered :/
What's really (still) pissing me off is that i was one of the first ones to order on here and so many people have been receiving the same games i ordered but they ordered hours after me.
Also i was offered $40 vouchers (2 orders) and have yet to see them.

  • +1

I'm over it - just want my money back now. :/

    • +2

Starting to feel the same way. In any case these guys better stump up those mythical gift cards pretty soon if they're planning on keeping hold of our money this close to Xmas.

      • +1

same, wish i could just see my money back.
Maybe they had money issues and needed to generate 600k to pay off someone?
Why didn't they stop the sales as soon as they saw thousands of orders?

  • +19

I can empathise that it was an error that The Good Guys sold so many of these games. The popularity of the games clearance (and rightfully so,the games were so cheap) meant that The Good Guys have not been able to meet orders.
What I don't understand, is the terrible level of customer service.
Many can argue that they are going above and beyond trying to source games and fulfil but it seems to me that they are simply trying to save face.

I am yet to receive any of my games. I received 1 email saying my order had been sent to a store for processing, followed by a second email shortly after saying not all games were available ATM. That was 1.5 weeks ago!

Whilst many people on here had received phone calls, I have not. When I contacted them via Oz bargain I received no reply. I contacted them VIA FB with my order number and asked them to call me, but I was given a generic email address! I sent an e-mail to that address, and was told another department would be in contact.

I called the store, they gave me the number to head office. I called head office, and was greeted by what appeared to be a 15 year old boy. He was nervous, and very unhelpful. After being stuffed around, and left on hold for 20 minutes I wanted answers. Until I demanded he do so he wasn't even going to look up the status of my order. When he did, he gave me very little to no insight. When I quoted the e-mail many had received he refused to comment. He just said if it said in the email that it would be resolved by Friday, then it would. I laughed!

He then sent me that very e-mail! My reply was simple, but pointed out the inadequacies within TGG Customer Service Team. They wonder why people(and come on here reporting people for) slander their staff, but fail to see that it is not slander, it is simple truth.

Of course it is not fair to personally attack a staff member (it is just their job, and they are just the messenger in most cases) but the upper management who are telling them what to do / what to say deserve to be reprimanded.

TGG think that a $40 gift card per order will adequately compensate potential shoppers for their inconvenience, but I am sure there are others like me who have promised games to their child and now need to come through on the goods! That will cost far more than $40 in shops.

If a rep from TGG is reading this, please consider how you manage your customer service / complaints department. Ensure all staff are giving the same information. Ensure all buyers receive correspondence, and don't make promises and then renege on them.

  • -3

Got a dispatch email stating 5 out of 24 games are on there way…., rest on backorder.

    • 4 more of mine dispatched today. 2 to go… (although they are wii u games and I doubt I will ever see them)

  • +2

Was promised I'll receive 3 of 14 games last Monday when they gave a call Fri of last week. No sign of them. Was told to expect another phone call from TGG to re-assess. No phone call. Very very bad customer service.

  • +4

I can appreciate why tgg are taking a long time cause it seems they are genuinely trying to fill orders. But what I dont like is that this is being done without communication to us waiting. If they just gave me a call or sent an email to let me know what was going on and why its being dragged out, I would be alot happier.

    • +2

jup, I agree. Shit can happen but at least tell us what is going on. Such bad customer service.

  • does anyone know if are we supposed to be receiving the gift cards if we are still waiting on backorder items, or is it solely if we cancel our order please?

    Thank you.

    • From what I was told last week we would be emailed gift cards if they can't supply all of the order. I think he said we would receive them as soon as we received the refund for the games that can't be supplied.

The problem is we don't know if all of our orders will be supplied - the lack of communication is frustrating. I assumed from that email last week that only that list of 3ds games would be sent but it looks like they are managing to get in other games as well. An updated list of games they have been able to source would be great.

He originally told me I would receive a follow-up call but later in the conversation he told me if I don't hear anything that they are supplying everything. If that is the case how long are we supposed to wait?

      • Emailed as in online use only? Or just a code? I've never had a digital non physical gift card before.

        • I think he said it could be printed out and used in-store as well as online - but don't quote me on that.

He definitely said we would receive the gift card by email. I had asked him when they would be posted out and he said no they would be emailed.

        • Looks like my nexus 7 plan is in the bin since surprise surprise they are sold out again at my local stores. Might go for a 3ds instead :D

    • I got another call today (basically same story as before but this time saying they couldn't guarantee a copy of Soul Silver, which I'd figured out for myself). I outright asked what the story was with gift cards, saying I'd been told (as had others) different stories, from no gift card to $20 if part of the order was cancelled to $40 no matter what for the inconvenience. The guy said that no one had informed him of anything to do with gift vouchers so he couldn't tell me anything, but that there was meant to be an email going out in the next few days telling everyone what was happening (though since I never got the last email everyone else got, I don't know if everyone will get it).

      • +3

I didn't receive that last email. I wonder how many other people didn't.

  • Just got a dispatch email and a lot can change in a day. Now I've got 4/7 games dispatched as opposed to 1 from last night. I literally jumped out of my chair when I saw this email.

I think quite a few orders will be partially or fully dispatched today.

    • +2

I think quite a few orders will be partially or fully dispatched today.

What on earth gives you that impression?

I'd like some kind of indication of what is likely to happen with my order. Tgg have had long enough now to know the likelyhood of people getting x game.

Some of us need to know if we should enact plan b because certain expectations have been set for Xmas.

I haven't even had a phone call yet.

      • Because there are a couple of people that are getting dispatch emails within a shortish timeframe. Don't forget about non-OzBargainers.

If you want an indication on your order then call them on 1300 466 348.

  • After calling up today about three games that have been marked as "ready to pick up" since early last week on one of my orders they have now been sent out.
Is telling them they have stock of the game what it takes to get it sent out ?

EDIT: None of the games I ordered from that 3ds/ds list have been shipped though.

  • Just got a delivery email - Pokemon white 2, Mario and sonic 2012, Pokemon black yay!
So the email we all got about the games that will be sent out is accurate.

  • Just received Uncharted Golden Abyss.Store was Nunawading.

  • Didn't receive any call or email, but one game today
