Is there anything significant that's caught people's eyes?

      • The Pyrex 18 piece food storage option looks good… $17.99 and currently on sale for $68.20 down from $109.10. $203 at Fishpond

  • Do they ship cosmetics and perfumes as well?

  • I happily discovered Black Friday there by accident one year. I see by the Macy's catalogue that it now starts Thanksgiving eve at 8pm.

Macy's prices seem overly steep to me, amazon are 50% cheaper for the watches I checked.

    • Amazon is the best. Go Amazon. It never lets me down.

      • May I ask that which forwarding shipping company you are using? Cheers

        • I use hopshopgo. It seems to be the cheapest, even without discount codes.

        • shipito for me.

Don't forget Macy's add an extra 20-30% to their prices if you use an Australian credit card/address, and won't ship some brands here.

    • Yes, it seemed to be a 20% increase(ripoff) over the US prices. And for some reason they refused to accept my 28 Degrees card despite all my details being correct. Arrgg…

  • Macy's website is really clunky and has really bad scripts that slow down my computer.

I will wait till Nordstorm have their sale.

Is there anything there worth getting? It does look pricey but still better than local prices especially with flat rate shipping.

  • for some weird reason the price on everything goes up after 1pm, in some cases double, so order before 1pm!

Worked well thanks - got some awesome new gear for my son and a nice Donald Trump business shirt.

gccmelb is right though their website crashed my browser a few times and made my pc fan ramp up due to the weird load on the processor.

Don't forget to use the code "gift" at checkout for an additional 20% off!

  • Does anyone know a way to use a shipping forwarder with Macy's, to avoid the 20%+ Australia tax & inability to purchase brands like Calvin Klein, Nautica, Ralph Lauren? They don't accept credit cards with AU addresses for US deliveries. Would a prepayed Visa work such as you can obtain at Australia post? Or an online virtual credit card like Entropay? I'm sure others could profit from any enlightenment on this subject.

I tried using the chat function and asking an employee if they could manually process my order for me (Au Master card for a US delivery, but they were unfriendly and said no, no explanation given).

  • a couple of days ago I tried to put Ralph Lauren into my basket and proceed, seemed to work fine.. But I did not checkout anyway…

I just want to remind you guys that Macy's doesn't always deliver the right items you purchase. Last time I was in the US and bought some belts and clothes from Macy's.com but it still couldn't get it right after 3 incorrect deliveries. I had to go to the shop 2 times to return the wrong items. Given that Australia is so far away from the US, if you don't have any issues with potential wrong deliveries just purchase from their online store.

  • I bought something for $680 and at checkout, if I select DHL (which is faster), I get a $77 discount. What's that all about?

Edit: I should clarify, I didn't buy it yet, I'm just in the checkout screen waiting for the go-ahead.

Be aware that just because they accept your payment and send you a receipt, doesn't mean that the order will be sent to you. I've put in several orders over the last 1.5 years and had quite a few not filled. The way it works is this:
    1. You put in the order, make payment, they deduct the amount from your account "pending authorization".
    2. Then, a day or two later you get an email saying "sorry we couldn't fulfil your order because one of the items in your order is out of stock."
    3. That's it: no option to back-order, or to put the order through without the missing item…
    4. To add insult to injury, the "pending authorization" deduction/hold stays on your account for over a week sometimes.

And when you email customer service, all you get is corporate-speak : "We're sorry Mr.Stinge that we weren't able to fulfil your order this time, but you're welcome to place another."
Or: "you're welcome to check with our live-chat operators to make sure that all items in your shopping bag are available, prior to checking-out"…

All that said, I'm still going to place an order, the prices are still pretty good, even after the 'Australia tax'.

  • I thought the shipping was free, what am I missing on DHL comments etc? isn't shipping free?

    • Mmm the title of this post is "… $15 AUD Flat-Fee Shipping to Australia …"
