Good for Computer Monitor, i.e not for TV use.
4k @ 30hz
hdmi 1.4 limitation
Warning: there are reviews everywhere saying these don't do 60-120Hz as claimed at 1080p for gaming.
Afaik, still awaiting a firmware fix from seiki. The 50" model does not have this issue.

A good video to watch before purchasing.
Good video, seems you're getting what you pay for (and that's not necessarily a bad thing).
Guess it's a monitor for high res duties other than gaming or photo/video editing. Not that you can't, it's just not ideal.
Q: what kind of 3D glasses should I use this tv
A: Any kind. You are free to use any kind of 3D glasses you like with this TV, but unfortunately you probably will not see any 3D effect since this is not a 3D TV.
LMAO
I bought one 3 weeks ago for use as a monitor for photography and am pleased with it.
This is a good price even by USA standards and Amazon are good to deal with with rapid DHL delivery.
I upgraded the firmware but it still blanks out at 4K now and again for a few seconds which I presume is due to me using it without a graphics card and just HDMI or DVI off a i5 processor with intel 4600 graphics. Initially it would work with that setup at 30Hz without blanking but now I need to use 25Hz which is ok for what I am doing.
Its build quality is ok. Colours are satisfactory rather than superb. I have downloaded and viewed a few 4K Utube videos and the Seiki plays them ok but the videos are nothing to write home about. It looks much the same as the 4K sets I see in retailers but is smaller and without a PAL tuner and even has a strange screw type TV connector. It also does not wake or sleep with computer input although it is fairly energy efficient with my computer and monitor using 76 watts all up at idle.
I would recommend it especially at $200 less than I paid.
Was the plug hardwired? or could you substitute with another cable?
The strange screw type tv connecter is an f type female plug, common in the USA. The most common type in Australia is a BNC connector. All you need is a female BNC to male f type connector to hook up your regular antenna cable. They cost about $2 in local stores.
Plug was hard wired to internals of set. Was a 2 prong USA plug with an enlarged end on one prong. I filed it down and twisted prongs to fit our system whilst preserving polarity.
voltage wasn't an issue?
The price was just reduced again. I just bought it for-
Item Subtotal: $495.99
Shipping & Handling: $117.62
Total Before Tax: $613.61
Order Total: $613.61
Thanks willdog123
$493.99 today, new low price according to camel^3
Lower still. $484.99 now.
Think I'll hold off until next week, by which time it will be below $200.
50" is almost down to it's lowest price again.
These don't seem to ship to Australia directly at the moment.
Any forwarders lower than $156 (39") or $252 (50")?
Before the gamers cry horror at 30Hz, it will refresh faster at lower resolution.
Most graphics cards have the same limit, don't they?
