MTV SD Set-top box - $29 at coles

250

I know this was submitted sometime in the last few weeks but then it was only at one rogue store which probably got ahead of itself for the sale. In any case I think it should be available everywhere now for $29 so we can all rejoice.

Perfect for all of us who have older TVs and just want all the new channels. (ABC2, ONE)

EDIT: Seems like it might just be in QLD, NSW, WA.. not sure.

Yep, like I said.. the deal was posted before but it wasn't actually valid in all stores then. :)

      • still isn't………Adelaide shows mtv 5.1 dvd player at that position in the catalogue

        • Bummer. If it's any consolation last week they were selling the DVD player for $29 at my local store.. maybe you'll get it next week? In any case it's available at more than one store now.

        • Melbourne shows mtv 5.1 dvd player at that position in the catalogue also.

@sysplex: Yeah it seems its just QLD, NSW and WA. Maybe you'll get lucky next week!

      • Ahh, gotcha. I should have scrolled to the bottom, as it was marked that price at my local store. :)

  • Just set mine up, remote is a bit dodgy but apart from that it works like a charm! Was actually quite a surprise, I thought it'd be a POS in all honesty :P

Yep, same here. I can finally get SBS and that's what I wanted with the Ashes being telecast on there in July. I can watch the IPL as well now too. It's got a favourite channel list and can show the 16:9 format on the old 4:3 TV's. Fantastic buy for $30!

Question though: there's a little door on the bottom at the fron that's stuck. I wonder what's under there?

      • I had no idea that the ashes were being telecast over here on FTA, you just made my day! :D As for the door, I think it's just a different bit of plastic for the face plate?

      • My PVR also has a "little door" which doesn't open.
I suspect that the "little door" may be for DVT-S (satellite) variants, using the same "box" but needing smart card/slot.
