  • Windows OS isn't included in any of the bundles, right?

"Additional HDD, Memory, OS => free installation!"

      • +2

but the item itself is not free, just the labour to install is free, i think

  • -5

is it worth the spending for pack 4?anyone?

    • +1

I would normally price the components separately and then calculate their cost of installation. Just use staticice to check.

    • +4

      Why neg with a question?

  • +6

How come it for battlefield when it not comes with OS, you cant play games without OS

    • -5

Because Windows is easy to pirate?

    • Because it's not hard to spec a computer against recommended requirements…

    • +1

I was always asking the same question, all these desktop deals exclude OS, how the hell am I suppose to play any games on it, then add OS, plus get all the drivers blah blah blah, thats a hell lot of time and effort, plus pay all extra $$$, is this worth it or not?

I just want to have something plug in power and all ready to go, just installation of games on it and start playing, is this that hard to get deals like this?

      • Go to Harvey Norman etc for plug & play. Cost you allot more though.

        • Except this deals offers 'free installation' of the OS - so the only difference is, they don't want to include the OS cost in the price of the build to make it look like a better deal.

You don't have to shop for ridiculously bad value prebuilts from Harvey Norman and the like, just for OS-included plug and play.

        • absolutely spot on, why would i go and pay hardly normal for their crap prebuilts at a rip-off price?

        • I agree, However if the end user is a total noob with no desire or patience for learning such simple tech, they'd be better off dealing with a local supplier where they can get support face to face.

No good noobs getting something via courier they don't know how to setup.
I only used HN "etc" as a quick example, perhaps there's a small local supplier who can go out to his home, plug it in, show him/her the ropes etc, drop back if & when needed.

      • they are including OS as an extra option

if you want it so bad, then pay for it and they will install it for you so its plug and play

        whats the problem here?

      • This is because some customers have a copy of windows at home already. Therefore, we leave the OS as an option. We do concern of people who needs OS, that we leave it as an addition. We will install all drivers for you when the system is purchased with an OS.

        No worries!

    • +6

If you already have a copy of windows license key at home, we would not ask you to buy a second one just because it is a part of the package. This is why we put the OS as an addition. Thanks!

  • For a PC store their website sure is outdated, such a terrible layout

    • +7

It's fine. I assume you haven't seen MSY.

      • They're on the same boat, can someone post a direct link to the page to order these deals. I must be really bad at this, still cant figure out how to order

      • +1

        MSY's PDF pricelists are legendary!

  • I prefer the basic layout of Umart, always have. Don't change it please, makes it so easy to shop.

Anyway +1 because I've been buying from Umart for nearly 10 years.

  • +2

People still play Call of Duty 4?

    • apparently some people think the series became crap after that!

  • +2

I'd recommend package 3, though of course it is best to research components yourself and assemble them, or if you don't know how, pay someone to do it.

    • I was going to say Package 2 with an upgraded GPU would be enough for most… but with another 8GB of RAM, a better graphics card, a higher capacity SSD(!) and a higher wattage PSU (can't judge more without looking into each model) for $270, I think you're right.

  • Hi Umart Sydney, does your West Ryde branch have a paywave terminal?

    • Unfortunately, the machine does not support paywave.

      • Will you give a small discount if we pay in cash? ;) ;)
Also - do you pricematch MSY if their prices are cheaper?
Deciding whether to go to Umart or MSY in 2 weeks for parts to a new B4 build, never been to the west ryde one, have been to MSY Auburn though and although the lines are long, their service has been alright.

Question about your stock - when it says Preorder (5+) on your website, I'm assuming you have stock in other Umart stores around the country, just not the west ryde one - how long does it usually take for the pre-order stock to be ready for pickup @ west ryde?

        • +1

The price listed on the website are cash prices. Our prices are really good.
We have free installation offer at the moment which would be further saving on your machine.

We do not comment on other shops and we do not think queue would be an issue for customer if they could get exactly what they wanted. Some customers came here and told us what they experienced badly with their local stores before we come to Sydney.

They went to the shop, waited for 30 mins, but some of the stocks they wanted were unavailable. They ended up to upgrade this and that with paying extra.

This is what you would not see at Umart. We sincerely invite you to try us. We have lots of loyal customers coming back all the time with their friends and family. And I am sure you would enjoy your shopping experience with Umart.

        • The price listed on the website are cash prices.

So does that mean you have like a 2% surcharge for visa/mastercard?

We have lots of loyal customers coming back all the time with their friends and family.

Yep, have a few friends who started going to your store instead of MSY for convenience
Btw, could you please answer the question about "Preorder" status?

        • I.e. how many days it takes for you to transfer from another Umart to Umart West Ryde

"Customized PC for Battlefield 4" Seriously? If it was really customized it would have an AMD GPU.
The first package would really struggle on BF4 on anything other than low.
Tbh you would have been better off just saying "Customized for Call off Duty: Ghosts".

    • Hello, when we design the system, we would choose the product that is sufficient in stock availability. So customer could have their system ready ASAP. The list shown in the post does not mean Nvidea is better than ATI, vice versa. We believe Nvidea and ATI are both making good quality cards.

Customers are welcome to get the card switched to ATI! We have completed 7 systems so far and 3 of them has been switched to ATI. Thanks for your input here.

      • +1

So it's customised to suit your stock levels, not "Customized PC for Battlefield 4".

        • Please be advised that to be classified as a deal, we must be able to supply at least 10 packages.

Please be advised that we did say both ATI and Nvidea are good for gaming, there is no difference for us. (2nd Line)

Since we are "indifferent" between two brands, we follow the second rule => requirement on stock level.

          Thanks!~ ^^

        • You clearly missed the point. What exactly makes these "Customized for Battlefield 4"?

        • Everyone would have their preference (some of them are fans of Nvidea/ and some are fans of ATI).

And we take care of customer's preference and opinion. We customise the machine by following the games' hardware requirement. If you wish to customise it with your personal preference, you are welcome all the time! Thank you! Your input here is really valuable!

        • It's not about preference… I agree both a decent cards. You just don't get the point…

        • They just don't want to admit that you can't customise a PC to BF4, like, how is that even possible?

        • Quote from the post:

        • Lol, still don't get it do you…

TOTAL = $1,324.72 with credit card surcharge and shipping

Just purchased this off your website, and I am sure it is able to perform much better than the $1270 build in Battlefield 4, and probably even better than the $1700 bundle (considering it's AMD and receiving the Mantle update next month)
