$5: V Blue 24x 255mL - NQR Kilsyth

630

This is calling out all those uni\school students in the South Eastern suburbs of Melbourne who need to stay up all night studying for their exams….. or you know, people who are looking to get a nice irregular heart beat going!

NQR Kilsyth which has some good deals have these two amazing slabs on offer. Both still had a full pallet when I was there lunch time on Wednesday so their should be some still on offer. Best before date was the 4th of November for the blue cans and 14th of November for the green ones.

They also had $5 for a case of 500ml x 12 for something called 'Maximus'. It was essentially a gatorade style 'sports drink'.

Hope some people can get a couple of drinks out of this!

Edit Boronia NQR has 30 slabs of the blue stuff, none of the green

Mathematically the regular is a better bargain. But that's a shitload of caffeine!!! lol

    • +17

Not if you lived right on the border of SA where you could get 24x10c rebate for empty can bringing it down to $2.60 per slab……. but yes, merely per $ to ml value, you're right!

        You are a TRUE OzBargainer!

Until I get 100+, I'm merely an ameteur. One day I'll live the dream of being a true ozbargainer, but till then, I'll keep posting and participating in this great community

also found in werribee NQR & Moe? (i think)
    Most likely victoria wide.

    • I wasn't sure of that, I might swing by the Boronia one tonight and see if it's like that everywhere

      • If you went now to check now and updated the thread I could decide if I want $5 V or $2 pizza ( http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/121232 ) on the way home from work. ;)

        • +2

          hmm - thrifty and lazy!

        • For further laziness, one could save a car trip, or a walk technically for "free delivery?" http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/121311

        • About 30 slabs of the blue at Boronia, none of the green

      • Wouldn't lilydale NQR almost be closer? (If you live a bit further out?

    • I went to werribee today and they were out of the V.

  • Great price. No NQR in sight for Sydney :(

      You're not thinking with OzBargainers.

You should be asking: Where can I price match this in Sydney?

    "BB 15 NOV 2013"

That's gonna be one long, sleepless week to polish all of those off before then :P

….if only we had something to keep us up all night so we could get through them…..

Comes with a free trip to graveyard on the 16th

    • It's best before not expire, best before is, it's okay to consume, and expire is, well it's better to not consume it at all.

  • -1

Can they be consume after the best before date?

    • +1

I just had a blue can which was the 4th…. no issue ….. yet

    • +7

my brother in law use to work for frucor and we were drinking heaps of v well past its use by date with no issues.

    • +3

Anything can be consumed after the best before date, it's when it say's "use by" that's when it becomes a health concern.

Drinks have a best before because they know the fizz will stay in that long, after there so called best before date the fizz will start to fizzle out, still drinkable but flat ;o)

      • +1

Where does the fizz get to? Surely the CO2 is still in the can until the seal is broken?

        • Oh I'm sure it is… It's just no longer attached to anything.

      • +2

How does the fizz know to start 'fizzling out' on the right day?

        • +2

Defizzle ma nizzle is the term they use I believe.

        • Right Price in South Australia is still selling Coke Zero Cherry, 2litres for $1, its like 6months out of date and tastes very flat, its still better then that tru blu rc cola rubbish.

From the thumbnail I thought it was $500 for a pallet! I was starting to think about how I could transport it home.

  • just bought some from Kilsyth store.
its got a strange after taste, but still very much blue V.

the last lot i bought from frankston store also had a strange aftertaste, but i grew accustomed to that.
maybe after it expires, it loses some of its taste?

however, at 20.8cents a can, im not complaining :)

thanks op, was on my last cans from the frankston sale too :)

    • I had some expired plastic bottled raspberry Fanta. Could swear it was cough medicine…

    • Happy to help! Looks like it's all over NQR's though. Were some at Boronia still tonight
