  • @Rep: What input is there? Any chance there's a mini display?

    • +1

Hi delusioned, just the single HDMI input on this product. You may be able to get a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter but unfortunately we don't stock any. Maddie

  • Edit: Never mind. Product doesn't do what I thought. I need to learn to read :D

  • Where are the Revtek range products made in?

    • China, where else:)

  • Does this allow for a video wall splitting?

    • Hi tmusic, Unfortunatley not - it simply duplicates the input signal to all four outputs. Maddie

  • Thanks Maddie, exactly what I've been waiting for. Hopefully it works now, splitting from Yamaha Receiver to 3d Projector over 10m cable, and 3d TV over about 2m cable. Further down the track will be splitting out to other rooms as well, I really do hope it works, will save me buying a new AV Receiver

    • How about that - I'm in the same boat (without 3D). Good that the new Yammy's have 2 HDMI out, but am making do until I have a better reason to upgrade. Fingers crossed it does the job - my current 2-way splitter tends to be a bit flaky.

Mine arrived today and is working a treat between my Yamaha Receiver, Samsung LCD TV and Panasonic projector. Looks like good quality, HDMI syncs up quickly. Only weakness is the electrical plug pack (which they all have) but it looks like it would be easy to replace if it failed. At this price, definitely an ozBargain!

        • BLOODY OATH. Could not believe how well this worked. Had Despicable Me 3d going on projector and TV. Audio in sync perfectly on tv with picture, and through surround sound for the projector. Was skeptical when I purchased. Had PS3 plugged into projector, 1080p output. 2m cable from receiver to switch, then a 10m lead to the projector and a 5m lead to the TV. Would definitely recommend.

any deals on the opposite of this unit?

i need a splitter so that my TV can support more HDMI connections

    • Hi ssjmark, not at this stage I'm sorry. If you happen to be in the market for an AV receiver, there are some great options on our website for you to have a look at. These will all give you more HDMI inputs. Maddie

    • +1

ssjmark, have a look at Naira's post below, his ebay item he's linking to is what you're looking for. You can probs find a version with a remote if you want.

  • will this allow me to plug different comopnents, and choose which one I am outputting…
ie if can i choose the source for tv to be one of either laptop, bluray, PS3?
(or do the opposite, take 1 signal and split it 4 ways?)

    • Hi glam77, Unfortunately this unit can't function as a switch as well - it only goes one way. So you can split a single HDMI signal and send it to multiple destinations. Maddie

Glam, have a look at Naira's post below, his ebay item he's linking to is what you're looking for. You can probs find a version with a remote if you want.

  • Hi Maddie,

You have any Passive Projector ?

    • Hi manoj, all of our 3D Home Theatre Projectors use Active 3D (not passive/cinema) so you can take advantage of the full resolution and get the most crisp image. Maddie

  • What is the advantage of this over the cheap ones in Ebay?
I have used one splitter similar to this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/3-Port-HDMI-Switch-Switcher-Split… and it works well.

I am keen on buying another splitter for work purpose.

    • +1

The one you just linked is a 3 in 1 out.
      This is a 1 in, 4 out.

      Pays to read.

      • So an extra port is worth paying more dollars? What a logic.

        • +1

No. You need to read again ;P forget the number of ports. The one you linked to does the OPPOSITE of what the OP posted.

        • Sorry Pandabargain and thanks happykamper for correcting me. Didn't realise there was such a thing.

  • StoreRep - I believe that HDCP relies on an uninterrupted, untapped connection between the source of encrypted signal and the display. Hence this device should not work (from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High-bandwidth_Digital_Content_… : "Before sending data, a transmitting device checks that the receiver is authorized to receive it. If so, the transmitter encrypts the data to prevent eavesdropping as it flows to the receiver"). Can you confirm that the device will work for HDCP (i.e. one input from my 3D Sony BR replicated on my lounge, my games room and my bedroom TV simultaneously?

    • I have a similar device 1in/2 out (powered BTW) and it works perfectly 2 years now with my Foxtel IQ2 box and 2 samsung tvs. I'm sure the rep's item works in a similar way, it's an active(that's why powered) device and not just a passive hdmi split

      • Agreed GregFiona - I have had a working splitter before, don't know how these do it, but it works. Mine can be a bit flaky now (hence I'm ordering one of these) and I think it's problem is that it sometimes gets stuffed up by the HDCP and my older HDMI equipment. HDCP used to be notorious for incompatibilities in the early days.

    • +1

Hi cristtos, it wasn't specified in the post above but if you have a look on our website in the product features, it is "Compliant with HDCP VGA, SVGA, XGA, SXGA, UXGA". I'm not sure as to the processes/handshaking that enable it to work, but it definitely does :). Maddie

      • I did read on the website, that is WHY I asked :)
Obviously the "secure" HDCP has been hacked.

        • Can't believe I ordered one (not too sure why!)

Can't believe someone hasn't commented on this yet.

Revtek 1 *In / 4 Out HDMI Splitter

    NOT

Revtek 1 On / 4 Out HDMI Splitter

Now I'm off to a bbq!

    • Thanks Spectator - can't believe we missed it either!

  • Hi - Any deals available for a 4x4 HDMI matrix? Need to distribute hdmi signals from my central AV rack to multiple tv's
    Thanks

    • Hi benoz, not at this stage I'm sorry. That type of product is definitely more specialist and not something we'd hold stock of. If you give our 1300 VIDEOPRO number a call, one of the guys in our Professional departments may be able to suggest something suitable. Maddie

  • Hi Store Rep—-,

How is your product better compared to the below. Which says it can handle HDMI 1.4. Also buffering and amplifying features are there.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/New-1-in-2-out-HDMI-Splitter-V1-4…

Another cheap one here 1 in 4 out. No AC input.

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Square-Black-1080P-Single-out-3-i…

How many of these have you sold at $188???

    • Hi bargain4sujit, that second one is a slightly different type of product (3 in, 1 out). In regards to the first one, apart from getting an aditional two outputs, you're ordering from an Australian company so you get warranty support within Australia. You'll also only have to wait a few days (depending on your location) rather than a few weeks for delivery. Maddie

      • Does that mean ur device can buffer n amplify?? What is the max length of cable it can handle?? Power adapter included or not?

        • It certainly does come with a power adapter, bargain4sujit. Regarding the maximum length cable, as it is a powered unit you can expect it to be sufficient for normal HDMI cable lengths for every output (no more than 10-20m over high quality cable to avoid quality loss). This Revtek unit will not amplify the signal more than the original and it doesn't apply any buffering. Maddie

    • I have the Revtek arrived today and working great, and would recommend.

The first one you list and I've had previously and they are quite good. There seem to be a batch of cheap ones though (like the one you listed) and I'm not sure if these aren't knock-off's of the original, same outside different innards. In any case, the originals were quite good, but were intermittent for me. So YMMV. The 2nd one you list may work, but not being powered may mean it doesn't work for more people.

  • To the Store Rep .. do you sell any HDMI splitters that split the video and audio (to optical or coax) and supports DTS audio streams ?

    • Hi Noz, not something that is a simple splitter solution. We might need to know more about what you are trying to achieve. Best to jump onto livechat and speak to one of our reps, if we don't have anything we might able to point you in the right direction.

      • Thanks for your reply. I have a Logitech Z-5500 amplifier that supports DTS, and has both optical and coax inputs - but not HDMI .. yet my media player can only send DTS via the HDMI cable (along with video). So I need to be able to extract the audio from it.

    • I can't see why this wouldn't work - the video AND audio should get carried to all outputs - your devices can decide what they do with the audio and video.

      • Yeah but for me I'd like to send a duplicate hdmi signal to another room with a screencast.

Whilst the monitor in that room has hdmi, I have no way of processing the sound without something like that.

      • Probably. Although a one port version would have been nice.

  • +2

I've bought and used 4 of these in the past year, at two locations:

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00263D7A4/ref=oh_details_o…

Delivered from Amazon seller. PSU is 120/240V, and none have had any issues. Including delivery they cost me <$40 each.

This 80% off is total BS…. The usual Australian reseller mark-up..

  • I have a old projector (BenQ PE7700) that has what I suspect is a HDCP problem as the HDMI work fine with a set-top box but I get nothing with my two Blu-ray players either connected directly or though my AVR.

Does anyone know away around this ?

    • If it's old, have you checked the projector does 1080P? If not, that is probably what your other players are trying to send and may be the cause of the problem (my TV only does 1080i/720p, but my projector does all through to 1080p, so I chose to set everything for 720p). Sounds like you would need to experiment.
