  • Why are they stopping it? =(

    • +1

Probably too many freebies. They are changing their pricing model also.

      • It's not a change in their pricing model, the $1 offer ends in Jan 2014, then they go back to $3.50…

        • I used to always pay $3.50 for mine. Was this $1 thing a promo code of some sorts?

Was this $1 thing a promo code of some sorts?

It looks like a new promo to replace the free Wednesday, but only for 2 months…

They are also stopping the 2 for 1 deals…

    • We had some discussions here. Looks like the free Wednesday model is not sustainable.

  • I'm pretty sure people on their email list get a free one in Dec too. At least that's what I remember the email saying.

    • Yes, see my link above re: pricing model. They will probably send out an email to people on their list re: that closer to the date.

      • They will probably send out an email to people

I doubt that, it says to check on their website the day before the offer for the details…

        • I meant as a reminder (to promote it)

  • Will be sad to see this go. Didn't use it a lot, but was nice to score a new relese movie from time to time.

  • DayDream,
Thank you for the promo code. Hope Hoyts may change their mind.

Hope Hoyts may change their mind.

They might if people change back to using their local video store… Not that there are many left now…

Thanks Hoyts it was a nice ride

  • I hate the way the world is going, 0day everything. Kiosks and stores that only sell and rent new releases. Once upon a time there were music, game and video stores with large and diverse inventories. Now you can only find non-mainstream content, older products and items at online stores like Amazon.

Here is another generic code that can be used on any day COKE744GP

    • That is a single use code

      • +3

It's only a single use if you use the same credit card. I've used it twice & the wife once with different cards.

        • +1

oh… nice to know… I've still quite a few of these that are expiring at the end of the month…

          thanks…

  • I can't get any card to work at two kiosks in Kings Langley NSW. And cust service is backed up.

    • They might have had a temporary system problem. Seems fine now.

  • I never used it before. Does it include DVD only or the BluRay is also included.

    • BluRays (very limited number) are in the machine and are the same price so presumably should work

  • I tried both promo codes just now (1:45pm) at Gordon kiosk - machine said both codes invalid. I didn't even get to the stage where I swipe my credit card. I've never had this problem before.

Is it still working for others?

    • Worked for me (first code) ~20mins ago

  • 2 codes = 2 free movies for me!
    Thanks OP

  • Can anyone give me a brief description of the steps to enter the free code?

    • +1

Read this: http://www.hoytskiosk.com.au/how-to-use-hoyts-kiosk.html and follow the prompts on the machine.
Enter the code after selecting movie but BEFORE swiping card.
It will show price and the voucher code deduction (only COKE744GP may be valid now as the other one was for yesterday only).
Ensure the price shows it as $0 (free) before swiping your credit card otherwise you will be charged the price shown.
Return movie before 9pm the next day to any Hoyts Kiosk location

  • Really nice find for the coke code!

  • +1

The coke code lasted until Wednesday 13th Nov, it was invalid the next day on the 14th. Good code whilst it lasted.

    • Thanks for the heads up. Was going to use it to rent Pacific Rim =(
