Save up to 60% on Sims 3 Titles @ GameFly Digital (VPN Required)

20
GFDOCT20

Use coupon GFDOCT20 for an additional 20% off….

Sims 3 is still the world's most popular PC game AFAIK.

I detest it, but my sisters and daughter love it…

Sims 4 is coming out in 2014, so expect future price drops on Sims 3 stuff…

Anyway Gamefly have heavily reduced nearly all things Sims 3 related

Some examples (before the additional 20% off with GFDOCT20) include:

Sims 3 starter pack = $11.99 USD
Sims 3 University = $11.99 USD
Sims 3 Island Paradise = $17.99 USD
Sims 3 Worlds Bundle = $7.99 USD

Some of the older addons are reduced as well but the savings are not that great. Older add-ons sell at Big W and the like for $10 AUD or so pretty regularly.

You will need a US VPN to take advantage of these prices.
www.tunnelbear.com offers a free VPN that is very easy to use and works well…

Hi everyone I'm a long-time fan of the Sims 3 games and have most of the DLC. It might seem really daunting and expensive how many there are, but you really don't need to get all of them to have a lot of fun.

Firstly, if you're money conscious, don't get any of the "stuff" packs. They're all the DLCs with the word "stuff" in the title. All they are are extra objects, clothing etc and don't add any new mechanics to the game. There's a huge modding community out there and you can download HEAPS of awesome fan-created objects, clothes, hair etc for free.

Out of the expansions, the only ones I think you should DEFINITELY get are "Seasons" (adds 4 seasons to the game with heaps of neat effects), "Generations" (kinda new mechanics and stuff relating to transitions between life stages, hard to explain), "Ambitions" (new careers).

The rest are optional depending on how you want to play. For example, if animals don't interest you, don't get Pets. If taking your sims to college don't interest you, don't get University. Wikipedia has info re each of the expansions.

The Sims Medieval is a stand-alone game and isn't part of the Sims 3 franchise. It's a cute game but I didn't play it very much.
