    Are copies accepted?

Perhaps scanning it in as a PDF might work better.

    Exclusions galore.

    • no more than the usual exclusions

  • doesnt say where to get the voucher

  • +7

I work at Target , considering that image is a flyer it'll be most likely be handed out at the front door or sitting with the catalogues. Haven't been at work recently so can't confirm yet.

    Hoping this works with consoles!

    • i went they are handing them out

  • Seriously why waste paper. All purchases over $50 should be automatically applied at the cash register. It is not that hard with technology these days.

    • +20

It's to save money. People who aren't going to buy anything will find a reason to with the voucher.
Those who are already planning to purchase, and don't know about the voucher, why waste $10 profit if they're still spending their money at Target?

    • there try to work out if flyer work or not.

      • +2

No need for flyer, just advertise on Ozbargain for free!

    • +3

I had a quick chat with the person that served me today, and asked them why they can't just get the register to automatically do it considering they have a person at the front handing them out, stacks at the register, advertisements on facebook and their online store.
And the reason is that every source has a different barcode on the flyer (e.g in store ends in 599, online ends in 582, facebook ends in 605), so they're trying to gauge where people are seeing the offer, and then going in store to use it. So they can count the frequency of a barcode and see where to better place their marketing.

      • +2

Tell them Ozbargain. Can't go wrong with that.

      • I thought that was the reason, because I noticed the different barcodes… but it's useless with the experiences I've had.
The first lady couldn't get my email printout to scan, and rather than typing the numbers in, she just stood there like an idiot, so I walked over to a nearby shelf and got an instore version for her to scan.
The second time, the checkout operator had an instore copy next to her register that she scanned without me saying anything. When I handed her my printout, she pointed out that she had already done it.

  • Does a PS4 pre-order count as a lay-by?

    • apparently, yes

    • all pre order are placed in their systems as a lay by. normally these vouchers also say no applicable to pre orders but i guess when its the same system, why bother?

  • +2

If this works you should be able to buy Batman Akham Origins PS3 or XBox 360 for $48. http://shop.target.com.au/p/batman-arkham-origins-ps3/547675…

    • Same with Assassins Creed Black Flag. Good deal!

    • Yes you can buy AC:Black Flag and Batman with this discount, just got mine at Southland

  • +1

    Here comes NERF guns :D

    • Check the catalogue that starts on Thursday. It has two Nerf guns in it.

  • where do you get the voucher from?

  • Here's a new exclusion - Coles Group card payments. I read this as no discount if paying using coles group gift card. Am I right?

    • It's only making payments onto the card to pay it off, not making a purchase with the card

    • +1

No, probably no "discount" paying off a Coles Group credit card via the checkouts?

      • +1

that's what I was attempting to say, but you said it in a much better way, so that.

  • Any way to get $90 off a new console?

    • Cut it in half then pay in two transactions.

      • That's not possible. Even if it was, I doubt you'd find someone willing to do that for you.

        • +2

Well I guess the only other way I can think of is to ask for $90 off.

    • you can technically pay off your pre-order in lots, which is what I did to get 5% off each $100 with my ING card. The only issue is it says the offer doesn't apply to layby, which I think PS4 and XBONE are technically.

      • Colour me sad, a shame indeed.

  • exclude telstra phone cards ?
Does it mean no telstra recharge? How come other telco is alright … :(

Hey guys, would this offer go well with the 3DS XL bundle on the 31st Oct sale? or should i wait for more deals to come since christmas is almost here?

    • Yes.

      • to get $10 off the console or $10 off every $50?

    • +1

although the 3DS XL bundle from target looks deceivingly good, personally I would wait.

You get a 3DS XL + Pokemon Rumble 3DS + (either Art Academy DS OR Dragon Quest DS) for $249 ($239 with voucher). I say deceivingly because they were selling the 3DS XL by itself for ~$239 recently (Pokemon ed. or otherwise), but when you think about what you're getting..

Rumble is a mediocre spin off game that I would question playing, seems to be a button bashing and adding Pokémon to your party or something. I can't even tell, also it seems like it lacks a legitmate story that of even Mystery Dungeon which I actually enjoyed.

I won't comment on the other two, but I can't imagine them being too great.

In short (what is retail worth of "$306"), you get a 3DS XL (good!), and two games you probably will play for an hour tops and get bored (not so good). Again personally I would rather invest into looking for a cheaper 3DS XL and get X/Y, a game I would actually enjoy playing.

      • i dont agree with you. Target were selling there 3ds xls fo 229 over a week ago but for $10 more you get two games which can be sold for a much higher price than just $10. i mena you can sell pokemon easily for $30 and one of the other games for $15 and there you have saved a decent amount of money and close enough to get x or y.

        • hmm, well if you're selling it that's a different story I guess.

lol funny you say that, just did a quick search on ebay and found these bad boys by the same seller #coincidence !
          Super Pokemon Rumble 3DS
          Dragon Quest IX

realistically I can't imagine getting more than $30 in total for both of these 2+ year old games. So hypothetically you can get a 3DS XL for $209… again hypothetically. It's a pretty good deal currently compared to any other options.

So your call, although personally I think something like the limited ed. Zelda 3DS XL for $268 is a bit better from EB. Limited ed. 3DS XL + Link Between Worlds included ("RRP" is $60), so a similar pricing for the console if you would enjoy the game.

  • Good deal.

Found the voucher in the West Australian newspaper today

  • T&C's stipulates the use of one voucher per transaction.

The exclusion of laybys means you wouldn't be able to drop $50 per transaction over multiple transactions…

They've obviously thought this one through a little bit!

  • do target sell nappies?

    • Yes, but limited range.

    • Yeap Huggies, dribots, and cloth terry squares

    • dont buy dribots 'cos it leaks

      • Agreed, bought a couple of packets and after using a few I think salvos might get a donation of the second packet.

  • Does staff discount work?

  • Almost a bargain in itself - Udraw pad with game is $9 in target Melbourne CBD, and other udraw games are on clearance for $4. they have it for wii, 360 and ps3, lots and lots in stock.

  • +1

Has anyone actually used this yet and does it work with a printed copy?

    • +3

i received an email containing the pdf voucher, so i assume you just need to print it out and use it.

    • +2

Target emailed it to me, so yes, they will accept printed copies.

      • thanks for that guys, I usually get Target emails but didn't get one, ah well will go in and use it!

        • i printed it out, went to the store and they were handing them out anyway. so used there one instead.

  • They are handing them out at the door, probably no need to print. It's heavily promoted all throughout the store as well.

So I can buy iPad Air and split it into 10 transactions?

  • +1

I just spent $49.90 and got a bunch of stuff originally priced at $181. Pretty happy with that!

    • Make that $134 for $386 worth. I think I need an intervention.

bugger, it expires 1 day before COD Ghost. can I use the coupon for pre-order?

    • +1

Read the other comments. No you can't, because a pre-order is considered a lay-by.

  • Just got a super warm quilt on sale 50% off for $44 - $10 = $34. Didn't buy last winter 'cos it was too expansive. Can use it for next winter…. it may last for 5 years.

    • I assume you purchased something else, considering you need to spend $50 to use the voucher?

  • Bought some Bonds undies.
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/120908
    Effectively, 60% off.

  • Does target do price match? If so I would try to get battlefield 4 from them tomorrow..

    • No they don't.

  • I used this today - total spend $61 less $10 = $51. I now want to return part of my purchase - that'll take the before discounted amount to under $50. Will Target remove the $10 discount as well?

    • No. I returned part of mine. You'll get back whatever the individual item is listed at on the receipt.
eg, I spent $53, less $10. Returned $16 worth, and was refunded $12.98.

  • does anyone can confirm if Target is selling new Pokemon X Y? thanks.

  • Huawei Ascend Y300 works out to $89 with this, got one today. nice deal.
    (includes $10 Telstra prepaid credit)

  • just at the new Kippa-ring target and the store greeter was handing out photo copies of the flyer. she was also going up to customers in the register queue and explaining the deal in case they were spending >$50 or wanting to save $10 if they bought something more to take their purchase over $50.

  • +3

I found something in Target today that I wanted but don't really need. I was struggling whether to buy it. Natually I serached ozbargain and bingo found this voucher. Now I have one more reason to buy.

Shall I thank Op and Ozbargain for saving me 10 bucks, or blame them for wasting me more?

    • -3

      First world problems.

    • definitely the first one

  • The staff member at the entrance handed me a coupon as I walked in and helped me locate the product I was looking for. By the time I was ready to leave, the same staff member was at the checkout. He ended up scanning a coupon at the register without me even having to fish out the coupon from my back. Some of the goods were on half price clearance. It was great stacking the good prices and the $10 off coupon. Too bad I didn't have a flybuys offer as well.
