  • Ink seems a bit expensive. How long does each cartridge last?

How long does each cartridge last?

Depends how much printing you do each day…

It can vary for a couple of hours to many months…

    • Not ink, but toner. It's a laser printer. CNET Australia wrote this back in 2011 about the CP205 (no W):

Fuji Xerox rates the black toner cartridges for the DocuPrint CP205 at up to 2000 pages, and the Cyan, Magenta and Yellow Toner cartridges at up to 1400 pages each. There's no option for a higher yield cartridge option. We found the black cartridges online for an average of AU$89, and the colour cartridges for AU$99 each. A quick bit of division suggests an average printing page cost of around 4.45c for a monochrome page and 21.2c per colour page, which is about what you'd expect to pay for a printer in this kind of price and capability range.

  • Store in title…

    • done.

  • Do these come with full ink tanks? Or only partials?

    • -1

How does an new ink tank come partially full? And why would you want ink with a laser printer?

      • Some don't have full quotas in them (written on the box - the ink/cartridges usually cost more than a cheap printer). Fair call on 'ink' - habit.

    • Do these come with full ink tanks?

The cartridges that come with it are most likely not full and probably do around 250 pages…

Starter Cartridges they are only 20% full, but you can snag a full set of compatibles on ebay for $40
      good for 1400 Pages http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/4-x-Fuji-Xerox-comaptible-toner-C…

  • Starter cartridges are actually 50% ones, 1000 pages Black and 700 pages each colour.

  • might just be the right printer for my kids' sharing talk poster printing.

any other 'disposable' color laser printers at CHEAP price tag? use up ink/toner then landfill~~
(ink/toner are just too expensive now)

Guys, Dont get ripped off buying toner! :)

  • Great wireless printer, especially at that price.

I paid $179 about a year ago for this one.

  • Manual duplex right?

    • Yes. This is the one thing I'd like, but it's so rare that I need it that I can live.

That's a good price. Non genuine toner is cheap.
They are LED rather than Laser which means you can not pull the drum out.
A cockroach crawled into mine and his legs seem to be in the innards somewhere such that I get streaks down the page and I can't figure out how to fix it and I have hoarded up heaps of toner.

  • I have this printer and I'm really happy with it. I run a business where I have to print bar codes for shipping each day and it is perfect. I use 100% wirelessly and it's been great. Genuine ink is available for quite good prices online, but it doesn't seem to use heaps of it. Great printer!

  • Bought one from OW Keswick SA. Gilles plains had one in an open box. None at Trinity Gardens store.

  • Got mine last night from Narre Warren for $60. Last one in store was on display, had a fault with the door for the paper trey(could not shut the door)not a biggie as I'll be leaving paper on it all the time

  • Finally got mine set up the other night. Dunno about others that have bought this printer, but I found the wireless networking initally a bitch to set up. Maybe I was a bit impatient, but it wouldn't recognise the router. In the end I used the WPS mode on the router and printer to set up - should have done it this way first - a piece of cake.

On another note, I've also noticed that the actual printing margins are kinda large, with the bottom margin about 15mm from the edge, 4mm from top and 6.5mm from the sides (on portrait). My old Brother prints 5mm all around.
