For anyone not near Sams, the Varta batteries at Bunnings are always good value.
(we get ripped off for energiser and duracell in australia, and many others are poor quality.)
Bunnings have a 10 pack of D cell Duracells for around $10-11. This is in SEQ and I've seen them at quite a few stores from Logan to Caloundra but generally located in the isles and I don't think they have them with the other batteries.
Got some D batts for my ghetto blaster, thanks OP
