I've just about rid myself of the weight put on by the recent hungry jacks, kfc and maccas promos

        • What's your reasoning for this diet? Are you trying to lose weight or detox?

        • trying to re-culture my lower intestine with a plethora of probiotics..

eliminating the carbs allows you to wipe the slate clean

        • +1

I get why so many people are anti-carbs… but they really do get a bad wrap. If you are an endurance athlete it is optimal to have a high carb diet to replenish stores, it actually increases stamina vs. a high protein or high fat diet which may increase strength and satiate appetite more (per calorie) but doesn't have the same benefits if you are expending loads of energy a day exercising.

        • I'm not talking about people who run 5km every day then 20-25km on a sunday. People who run upwards of 100km per week or equivalent. Of course if you say swim 1k in the morning then run 5km in the afternoon each day then you may be benefited more by a high-fruit high-carb high-veg diet. This also generalises a lot, you have to take into account an individuals metabolic rates (even so slower or faster eat high-carb if you are exercising that much: just less or more) and allergies etc. Also there is a great variation in the quality of carbs you are putting in. If you just want to build muscles and do intense short interval stuff then of course high-protein is the go (like reps in the gym) if you want to develop more fitness and exercise a lot then high-carbs is most beneficial to be able to do that. Cutting down on sheer weight then calorie restrict (not easy) rather than trying to change comp of meals you have (unless you are eating really bad).

        • Carbohydrates allow us to retain water, if your an athlete and you decide to not eat carbs you're likely to dehydrate. And a phenomenon called muscle wasting starts to occur. Its not advised, nor is it recommended for ordinary folk. Eat your fruit ladies and gentlemen.

My diet is designed to correct a over-prescription of antibiotics to cure a chronic tonsillitis problem.

        • hate to be you

  • Just went to the 7/11 near the office (Toorak Rd, South Yarra) hoping to pick up a few $1 ice-break. this is a different and ongoing promo.

    • Yes, I saw that offer too, but for today only everything mentioned above is just $1, so you can buy a single 500ml ice break and it will only cost you $1.

      • +1

really?! They put the 'buy one get 1 for $1' sign right next to the ice-break and I was thinking what the heck? Oh well…I'll try another one on my way home tonight. Thanks guys!

Probably were buying for the whole office. Should of asked Achmed if he had any more out the back

  • +1

5 ice breaks, 6 nut bars, 1 cherry ripe, 3 donuts, 1 sausage roll. $16.

Breakfast of champions. Should I really be eating unhealthy food just because it's cheap…

Can't believe you're only limited to 12 of each item! Previous deals like this have a 4 item max I thought.

Put $2 in the donation tin. :)

  • +2

Got 8 donuts for my coworkers this morning, tictac and ice breaks (coffee for tomorrow morning's breakkie, lol). Put $5 in the donation bin.

    • +2

You're gonna feel heavy and guilty, not lite and easy after consuming that motherlode of junk food ;)

  • +1

Can't find any original glazed left :( But the choc ones were also on sale at $1

    • +3

I bought one of each to try. I forgot how soft and delicious krispy kremes are. But anyway, don't get the choc ones, they are not as nice.

      • Yeah. I got chocolate ones for $1 ea as originals were sold out. The chocolate topping has progressively gotten worse. It tastes like those cheap $2 shop easter eggs now.

  • +2

I was walking around all day with my box of Krispy kreme's pretending they were a suitcase of money.

    • Handcuffs?

  • My best friend was the porcelain this evening…

Why oh why semi-warm (but so yummy) sausage roll are you so cursed!?

^tomsco so you were the one who took all the Krispy Kremes! I went to my local 7/11 in the morning and there were plenty… by the afternoon zilch!

  • +1

I am disappointed. The website stated Krispy Kreme Donut $1 will expired on 25th Oct. I went to 7-11 at springvale road and waverley road (Glen Waverley) today at 7am. Both said its expired…it's not fair! I think, if the offer will extent, it's better if 7-11 to have communication with staff members first…seriously!
