Amazon will usually pay return shipping for warranty within 30 days, the remaining manufacturers warranty they will not. Logitech does not have an international warranty on most, if not all of their products.
For example I did a warranty replacement with Logitech and I had to pay to ship the item to the US and had they paid to deliver the replacement to a US forwarding service. I had to pay the forwarding cost. So for these headphones a warranty return outside 30 days wouldn't be cost effective.
Really good headphones for the price but I don't recommend them for multiplayer gaming where communications are crucial. These do have the occasional dropout.
Maybe your headset has an issue, as I've never had a dropout or any problems with these headphones. Good price on this deal, I bought them locally from MightApe a while ago for about $130 (maybe an option if warranty is important to you). I would google for other reviews on the dropout, as I'll just confuse you by saying I thought these were much better than Triton and Turtle Beach headsets I've owned before ;)
Edit - I've read about win7 driver issues (as per post below) but I have windows 8 with no driver issues.
It's only occasional, I think it's just a busy environment of phones, wifi, Bluetooth environments etc. I haven't had any driver issues on Win 7.
From personal experience with this headset YES Amazon will cover your return postage.
I bought this set from Amazon and 6 months later it was faulty - they posted a replacement set to me and upon receipt I sent back the faulty set. I paid for return shipping and they credited the exact amount back to my credit card.
All in all it was an easy process and Amazon customer service really is amazing… buy with confidence I say.
Where does the .1 in the 7.1 get put in a headset? Is the subwoofer in one ear? BOOM, deaf in the left ear.
Where does the 7 come from? Speakers in a circle around the head?
There are only two, 40mm drivers per ear cup. It uses audio virtualisation via Logitech's drivers to emulate multi-channel sound.
There are actual headsets that do have multi-driver ear cups but the problem with multi-driver headphones is that if you divide up the price you pay for the product per driver, it usually amounts to less than 30 dollars spent on each driver (amongst all the other components) and for that kind of production cost; you are getting very low quality sound.
Also, I'm not entirely sure the proprietary wireless transmitter used would have throughput to handle 7 channels of audio simultaneously.
In general, as of now, you should stay well away from any so-called "5.1/7.1 channel" gaming headsets as the majority are simply rubbish.
I have had endless trouble with the drivers for mine and windows 7 … essentially have to unplug everything, reboot the PC, start the game connect the headset switch to windows switch back to the game and it works. Then after gaming the audio won't go back to the desktop speakers until I reboot…. good sound, great mic, good battery - shite drivers.
Create a sound shortcut on your desktop. Just go to control panel and right click on Sound and create shortcut. From there you can always double click and set your default device to what you want without having to reboot and unplug stuff. :)
When it crashes after use you can't access the sound module on the control panel - it just doesn't respond.
Actually I've had a similar experience.
If I plug the USB transmitter in before I launch a game my system will hang until I take the USB out.
Weird…it never used to happen.
Other than that, having no wires is pretty cool. Freedom!
right click the sound icon in taskbar
playback devices
disable it and re enable
hoppens most often when resume from hibernate
happens to my logitech usb speakers too
agreed, shite drivers
never buy anything logitech anymore
ive replaced everything except my m950 mouse which is the only good thing theyve ever made
That's odd, I've never had any troubles with mine (W7 as well). Have you tried updating or uninstalling/rolling back the drivers? Which driver version are you on?
Can this be used with home theater for movie watching
No.
Great headset, still very good to this day even with the newer wireless headsets1
Had this headset for just over a year 1 year, was overall pretty pleased.
Very durable headset with good sound, battery life is good, wireless works well. However I did notice that the microphone is of very low quality :(
Also the headset sometimes doesn't play too nicely dual-booting with Linux: Ubuntu Bug Report
How does the sound surround with 2 speakers? Though wormhole?
How do you hear surround sound with only 2 ears?
Also had this for over a year. Great sound quality, really nice surround in games and works perfect, plug and play with Windows 7.
Mine drops out from time to time (sound cuts in and out) and the material is starting to rub off on the right side earpad. I wouldn't buy them again.
Good price. Good headset, except my battery only lasts about 3 hours before I have to put it on charge! Only had it for about a year.. But atleast you can still charge and use it at the same time. Happy with the headset overall
the synthetic leather on the ear cups will start to peel down the road, usual wear and tear i guess. overall pretty good pair of headsets !
nice, been looking for a wireless headset. although not to keen on requiring to change batts so often..
You don't change the battery over, it's not possible. You have to plug in and recharge.
