What? Saying 720P, yet in the video resolution, it only list 848x480 (WVGA), 640x480 (VGA) and 320x240 (QVGA).

    • Perhaps it records in 720p but the little in-car display is only capable of those resolutions.

      • I don't think so. The screen on the cam should just have fixed resolution, no point altering to those low res options.

We have 2 of these… no problems with them so far. Video quality is quite good. Use CL10 SD card.

The samples on the sellers site are not a true example of the video quality, it is much better. Makes me wonder if they are genuine K6000's?

This sample is closer to the real quality… some quality is lost posting to youtube.

Before you compare this with the top shelf models folks remember it is twenty six bucks.

    • Assuming this is from the last deal, that's much better video quality compared to what my camera managed.

I'm not going to upload the full video, but here's a still from the video: http://imgur.com/ZJnHoK7

With the price change just now from $20.99 to $26.80 go for the 1080P version for $28.16 AUD.

    • Always go for 1080p and not lower. The purpose of the dashcam is to record and provide evidence in the event of an accident. Its rather useless if the resolution's not at least high enough to record licence plate numbers.

Realistically though, good cameras are 3-400 dollars and decent ones are around $100. This would only serve as a starter dashcam for someone absolutely new to it, which you will likely outgrow fast.

useless if the resolution's not at least high enough to record licence plate numbers.

I disagree. Hit and runs are relatively rare (unless you live in some west-Sydney hole?)
but much more common for the other party to later lie about what happened.
Even the crappiest dashcam will show where you were on the road and the sequence of events.
Even if you got hit from the side, and the other guy is not on camera, it is useful.

  • Do they have some that you can hide in your dashboard clock? In case someone tries to steal your car. :)

If you live somewhere where everyone tailgates buy something cheap like this and stick it somewhere obvious in the rear window so anyone getting too close can see it. End of tailgating problem.

I live in South Suburbs Melb.
EVERBODY tailgates. Manners and decency are long gone.
Would love to know if there has been a spike in nose to tail accidents over the past five years. Apparently everyone is an wise guy/hero-racer/asshole these days, even P plater girls!!
Its the new "normal" but I doubt they would notice or care if you had a little rear facing dash cam.

    This is the 720p model.

I got one previously from the ozbargain deal. Was supposed to be 1080p model but they send me this 720p model.

Video quality is very below average quality even during day time. Can't even see the license plate. I personally won't recommend. It is in the store room now.

  • These things have been far cheaper, bagood has much cheaper models with equiv function, and it is about $2 more for the 1080p model, I ended up with mine for free, so i use it, but i wouldn't buy one
