What's the difference between that and TVPad 2? They seem to have the same CPU, Memory, RAM and input ports.

        • Tvpad3 has a VOIP built-in function (VOIP handset to be purchased separately), has improved play-back speed and there is a new live play-back feature which lets you watch the Live channels up to 3 days. That's what we are aware of so far.

        • is the VOIP ATA feature can be use on other providers? as in it's UNLOCKED? or it is locked to specified provider only?

I honestly can't see the point of AppleCare. AppleCare for iPad only gives you an additional year of coverage, which is effectively the same period as your "statutory warranty" under Australian consumer law; Apple now provides warranty support for 24 months for nearly all of their products sold in Australia.

Agree…. Took a 19 month old iPhone 4S in to Apple 2 days ago with broken volume buttons, expected to have to argue a little… nope. Just changed it over without any hassle at all. If AppleCare took you to 3 years then I could see its value, but as it stands it's pretty pointless.

Agreed on Apple Care comments above.

Australian consumer law is much fairer compared to other countries. After the change you don't see as many push from retailers for Apple Care, JB used to always push iPhone Apple Care and they don't promote as much as it kinda is stealing money off poor customers who don't know the law.

Bottom line, do not buy Apple Care. It is obsolete in Australia.

  • Hi Rep,

Is there any Korean Drama channel with English subtitles on TvPad?

    Thanks

    • Sorry from what I know, there are no Korean Drama Channel with english subtitles. The Korean dramas only comes with Korean subtitles.

    1) I agree about Apple Care comments above.

    2) I see that TVPad3 is "faster, slimmer and better." and that it "now supports more Chinese channels" and supposedly "It also comes with more stable playback technologies". However, I would like the OP/Rep to explain in more detail the advantages of TVPad3 'over' TVPad2.

    • From manufacturer information, TVpad3 has a better play-back speed and with more built -in apps to watch more channels. It has a VOIP built-in function (VOIP handset to be purchased separately), has improved play-back speed and there is a new live play-back feature which lets you watch the Live channels up to 3 days. That's what we are aware of so far.

And the bottom line is for paying the same price for the TVpad2, it would be a better investment for the TVpad3.

  • Thanks for the deal. From doing a lot of reading online around in Whirlpool and here, an AppleCare pack will likely make the repair/replacement process cheaper and provide supplementary services (phone service/ immediate replacement dispatch) for accidental damage to the ipad.

FYI I just bought an ipad air day on release day, and I've bought an ipad retina a month back. The new iPad air looks and feels quite flimsy imo and if there is any damage will be a PITA to get fixed. $50 for peace of mind is well worth it for generally very good Apple service.
