The cheapest I've seen it before this was $598. It is usually closer to $700 though:
Windows 8 full (not RT)
The battery lasts ages. It boots quickly, but you rarely need to reboot.
It won't play any graphics intensive games, but it plays Halo Spartan Assault fine.
It runs all basic software/apps well (Office, Chrome, IE, Firefox).
It's a bit heavy, but built well with a strong metal case.
I think it's a good cheaper alternative to a MS Surface.
I thought that was the price for 2, lol.

Like the Asus one posted before also with 2GB run very well with full Windows 8 but not games. I will wait for Bay Trail.

Intel Bay Trail CPU's are releasing very soon, and the new Atoms are also using real Intel HD graphics not the silly PowerVR SGX GPU's which run like crap on Windows.
That means with the new-gen Atoms, it will be possible to actually play low end games (Torchlight, Portal, TF2) which isn't possible with Clover Trail.

we have heard about this " coming soon" for a while. in fact, from December last year.
When will the first tablet equipped with this bay trail hit the market though?
The unusual heavy discounting on the current gen tablets tells me they can't be far away.
Any idea on how this would go playing 720p/1080p MKV's?
