  • Can get android 4.3 on this?

    • What? On the tables? Not sure

    • +2

      yes.

      • +1

They haven't got 4.3.1, but probably will get 4.4 next week if the rumours are true… If not next week, then by end of month. This surely has to be the best bang for buck tablet out there.

Not sure I trust the lack of PayPal dispute guarantee… but hey, Awesome Tablet at $129, plus a full Address listing, and ABN… Take My Money!! *8vD

Looks like they have the 32GB for another $30 but via the website which also includes free shipping

    http://www.cfonline.com.au/index.php?route=product/product&p…

    or the 3G 32GB for $199

    • Reasonable price for a referb 32gb very tempting.

seems like they only sell refurb items….guess they r experts in refurb…. anyway bought one…call me sally…

  • I bought the 32GB version from the web site a couple of weeks ago. Looks like new.

  • Can't pay with PayPal! What is the best safest option from what they offer?

    • Credit card payment on their web site is handled by Commbank's payment system. You don't give your credit card details to CFOnline

    • I just used paymate….

    • Yeah, mine also got bricked when I did the OTA update to stock 4.3.
Asus offered to collect it and repair but I didn't want to wait a week or two for that.
Fixed it eventually (and rooted it) using Nexus Root Toolkit but it took a couple of days of messing around to get it right.

have you got a link to what you did?
(buying another and want to be prepared)

          Yeah. Here's the full guide
          http://nexus7.wonderhowto.com/how-to/easily-root-your-nexus-…
and the Wugfresh Nexus Root Toolkit website: www.wugfresh.com

However there are a few tricks
          1) First try unbrick it by booting into recovery mode, doing a factory reset and clearing the cache (Google how to do that). If that doesn't work you'll need to use the toolkit.
          2) If your Nexus is bricked and USB Debugging was not already enabled (by the way, it shouldn't be enabled normally as it lets a hacker bypass the lockscreen), then the toolkit's full driver installation won't work properly. But install the drivers anyway, then use the toolkit's "Unlock" function, followed by the "Flash stock + Unroot" feature. That should get your Nexus up and running.
          3) If you then want to root and optionally install a custom recovery, run the "Root" feature with "Custom recovery" checked. You may find that it does not work properly, so then just run the "Root" feature again with "Custom recovery" unchecked.

        • Thanks for that…..

  • Bought one, see what happens. Love the Nexus 7, even use the Nexus 7 2013 as a phone!

Did not know this could be done…do you take the calls via headset/loudspeaker?

      • Yeah, data based calls though like Skype and VoIP (voice of IP)

Calls - Skype / Pennytel VoIP / Tango
        Messages - Hangouts, FB messenger

Have the LTE version and I rely on data quite a lot.

I have a brand new 32GB if anyone is interested in making me a reasonable offer. Its only a few months old bought from TGG & will provide the original receipt.

  • just bought it and pick up already, no prob with booting screen and wifi, havnt test others. they said still hav about 100 left till now, but since yesterday they already sold 30, he also mentioned another sale in next week, but im more like this one

    • 50 items sold out. Lucky I didn't wait until lunch time. Was agonizing between the 16GB version and the 32 GB version because I already have an OTG cable. Decided to buy the 16GB version instead. Do you know what's on sale next week? Hopefully it's not the 32GB version at the same price :).

  • It's available on their website at the same price. Should we reopen the post?

    • Never mind, saw the new thread.

  • I have a Nexus (8GB) I never really used that I wouldn't mind selling. If anyone is interested they can PM me. I guess I'd be looking for $100-120?

  • is anyone elses payment through paymate still pending????

    • Mine was delivered today. Looks pretty much brand new, updated to 4.3 and bricked it…LOL

      • mines getting delivered today.

so, your advice is not to 4.3 it….

        damn..

        hopefully asus are pretty good

        • My experience with Asus has been good. Ph 1300-278788 and tell them the problem. They'll send a courier around to collect it.

Or if you're tech-savvy you can fix it yourself with the instructions I gave above, although doing things like rooting or unlocking the bootloader might or might not invalidate the warranty.
The good thing is that it seems just about impossible to completely brick the Nexus 7.

        • Got mine back from Asus yesterday…
Couldn't be fixed so given a replacement with 4.3 already installed.
I found Asus to be pretty good in terms of their customer service.

Bought another, so might well have to go through similar process, although it seems rather hit and miss about which get bricked and which update ok. Have also bookmarked Dacs link in case I want to give it a go myself…

        • I just followed the instructions above. Unlocked/Rooted it, then 4.3 installed fine.

New one arrived, and updated no dramas….
