It appears the registering and voting for the golden joysticks is up again, i have not tested another email though, remember it takes a while for GMG to associate the CVG and GMG accounts

I would like to confirm that i got my key, originally the email link led to the oops page, however as of now when i checked again it gave me a success page, and i received another email with the steam key

    So you need a GMG account, and a CVG account, and to get a CVG account you need a Facebook or twitter account?

    Got it after awhile, once the voting came back up had to wait about 10 hours for it to register that I had voted. Great find OP.

    Cheers OP, thanks for the tip. Got a free copy of Mafia II and Civilization V, a saving of around $100 using two accouts. Btw it doesn't take 24 hours, more like 12. You need to create an account on CVG using the correct email account, corresponding with the one used on GMG.

    I did not vote in all sections due to server problems, but did in most. Make sure you actually click submit vote.

    On GMG, make the username unique, all lowercase and only a-z 1-9. This will save you from the hated matrix glitch.

    Good luck to those trying to get it. I may get a few more copies and give them to those unfortunate enough to be running into problems on their site.

    … I just realised why I haven't got anything yet…

    I only verified on CVG. On GMG it still states "Your account is not activated. Please check your e-mail to activate your account", but I haven't received any email to verify from GMG… I only got an email from CVG…

    Actually BS, I got one from GMG too..

    Just got the game.

    They take down the site every now and then. That's when they check the email lists.

    You will know it is time when you cannot signup for a new account.

    It's been 2 days now since I voted and I haven't got my Civilization 5 Key yet.

      Go through the typing your email and username into the 2nd page again until you get a message that isn't "you've already voted" - worked for me, I just kept entering over half an hour or so and BAM.

    Already had a verified account with both CVG and GMG under the same username and email address.
    Also already voted in the awards before signing up for the free game. Went to the free game signup, put in my GMG details, got an email asking me to click a link to confirm my email and get a free game. This was nearly a week ago now, no free game email sent yet :(

      If you have not done so today, click that link in the original email again.
      The details on new page should say they are sending you the key for the game.

      (but they did run out of codes)
