  • is this a good deal?
my sis wants a new fone but im not sure if this is a good one for her
cos im completely cluesless when it comes to phones =O
and it also says "Phone is locked to the Telstra network for 6 months. Unlocking fee may apply."
so shud she get it? :(

    • Telstra always charge for unlock fee if I remember correctly.

      • $50 in the first 6 months, $25 thereafter.

(last time i got it unlocked anyway)

        • Google is your friendly information provider ;-)

    • Clem, look at the link posted by battler below - it's a much better deal (same phone, but $60 with $60 of Telstra credit). Phone is very reasonable and you can upgrade the memory to 2GB to hold more music, photos. It has Bluetooth as well so it's a very good first phone.

Yea, it's a much better deal.

    • Better if they hold the stock - by 12pm Thur 16th, my local Coles had replaced the Samsung with a lowend Nokia

      • woolworths is also running the promotion ($50credit+$10 extra phone) at the moment.

ooh thx ppl xD u guys are awesumm
    quick replies too hehe

  • used it for half a year. not a bad phone at all.

  • Also:

    This is a GSM phone.

Will not work as Next-G and in Next-G only areas.

    • Is the GSM network closing down? Whilst I try to be tech savvy I'm not always on the cutting edge of communications news.

Definitely not any time soon. If you live in greater metropolitan areas or large regional centres then you should be fine with this phone. NextG only becomes important if you want fast wireless internet access (for streaming video, making video calls etc) or if you start to move away from large population centres.
