People need to learn that these are always free. It's the strips that cost you your life savings.

      huh? nvm

    • They do have expiry date , a machine itself, so one need to replace this one too. The one available on E bay is around $25.

If you have diabetes you can join the NDSS and get the strips very cheaply. If you don't have diabetes why do you need to check your blood glucose levels so frequently?

By the way, this deal is available at almost every pharmacy in Australia.

    • Hated when the strip expired by just one day you can't use it; What a waste and I am sure the manufacturer has all the intention to keep the expiratory date short.

      • Try back dating your machine if desperate.

        • Not possible with these modern machine. I have an old one which has no expiratory enforcement. It gave me the same reading from strips which were expired 12m ago compared to the modern chipped strips. This lead me to suspect these companies are enforcing early expiratory for monetary gain. They are ripping off the health system and therefore our tax money.

Free for insulin user rrp $99 - expire 13 Oct

no idea how do the company knows if you have insulin or not.

If you don't use insulin your doctor won't be able to give you a prescription for the strips that machine uses so it is pointless getting it. You can buy the strips without a prescription but they cost a fortune.

Prescription for the strips? Don't be silly. Your NDSS info has whether you are Insulin Dependent or not. This determines your eligibility for subsidy.

        • Meter strips are PBS covered on Rx. Insulin dependency determines eligibility for needles and syringes on the NDSS, not strips.

As for the deal… well they are the inkjet/cheap laser printers of the medical world.
