I'm a huge Kairosoft fan and this is one of many great games they have made. I've never seen it free but every time it hits a dollar, it's an automatic purchase (in general for all Kairosoft games). Certainly worth every cent.

As pointed out by leonheart1, Hot Springs Story is for 99c as well.

    Same price for hot spring story. I didn't buy either though because apparently on an iPad the game looks worse than snake on a black and white phone.

      You can always try the 'lite' versions to see for yourself.

      I'd say all the Kairosoft games are defiantly worth at least a dollar (50cents if you bought discounted itunes cards) but I would also say my subjective opinion is astro story is one of the weaker titles. I enjoyed hot springs story a lot more but it seems most people don't agree with me on that one.

      They're fun as light sims that you play through a few times but once you've done that it feels like there's little point going again on a few of the titles. For example the restaurant one where the stats on upgraded food carries over and you end up just wanting to serve only that dish you've already upgraded in your restaurants because to serve and upgrade anything else is not rewarded nor optimal in any way.
