      Too right.
      Corrected n Ta.

How is this different from the existing Nando's loyalty card that's been available for about 2 years now?

    • +12

I've been to Nando's many times in the last 2 years but have never seen this advertised or anyone using it. I bet there're many others who are also unaware of this.

        • +2

          @Amar89
          That was for WA only.

It's a red letter day for our customers from Western Australia: today, throughout all our restaurants in Western Australia, we are launching our first loyalty program, the PERI-PERi Social Club!

For the record, I didn't Neg you or indeed anyone else on this post.

      • I'm using it… I found out about Nando's from the Birthday freebie list!

  • +1

They've actually been advertising this lately. Been to a couple different nandos in the melbourne region and all have the cards in front of the register, after u finish placing the order they ask if u want to be a member and quickly explain the deal.

  • dont really think i will eat so much nandos to warrant this card.

    • +8

But- free meal on your birthday!

      • Yep. That's how I found out about the app a while back!!!

  • +4

I have had this card and app for about a year now. Don't see how it's news coz there are always posters and signs telling you about it at the stores I visit plus as alvy mentioned, they usually ask if you want to join.

Plus there has been a post similar to this already

    • +4

Okay, it seems that the 2 outlets I frequented were less than enthusiastic about promoting this deal - I'd have had enough points for a couple of free meals otherwisem

For the time being, let's leave this post for the benefit of others in the same boat. Will pull it if there aren't any more +votes in the next 24 hours.

      • +1

Same, only just found out about it the other day when I noticed they had the cards out on the counter - never seen them before. Could have got a few free meals myself

      • +1

I think I will get one next visit. I don't go often but 10% off next visit is better than nothing.

      • +2

Fair enough. Apologies for initially being cynical.

I agree with you however, if others can benefit then it is worth keeping posted here.

  • +1

I used to work in Nandos before and did not hear anything about this back then

  • +1

Thanks for reminding me that I can get free Nandos on my birthday to add to free Subway!

  • +2
    • The post you and cvas referred to only mentioned a free drink in the title, that's why I ignored it when searching for duplicates. So strictly speaking, no dupe.

      • +4

Just because its a different title doesn't not mean its not a dupe.

A loyalty card isn't a bargain, this belongs in the forums…

    • +6

Freebies for little commitment required are a bargain, IMHO.

    • +5

      @JV
I won't quibble on a technicality so long as there are fellow ozbargainers who can benefit from this deal.

    • I don't undestand this argument at all, and i think if this is the sites rule or policy, it should certainly be changed.

  • +4

This is great around your birthday. I signed up on the very day, went in to buy lunch, expecting that I wouldn't be eligible, got my entire meal for free.

    • Nandos are actually good guys when it comes to honouring deals. Other retailers could learn a lot from them.

  • I don't get it. You can't register online if you don't have a card. If you register on the mobile app, do they send you a card, or do you just use the app or something?

    • You don't need the card if you use the App which provides a barcode for scanning at the counter.

      • +2

        thanks

  • +1

    aweasome! thanks

  • +1

Damn I just had nando's yesterday. Everyone who ordered after me were scanning their cards. I was so confused, but this post now makes sense.

    Thanks OP.

    • I was thinking same thing - had nando's yesterday, but didn't know about the card.
We eat nando's a lot, would a lot more but it's pretty expensive. Now I have a reason to :)

  • +1

good deal. Effectively works out to a 10% discount - but you can bank it

    • A fine example of an accomplished ozbr's mind at work here :-)

  • My birthday is next week!! Thanks OP

    • me too! Happy Nanday to us.

    • Shit, mine was 3 days ago :(

      • Mine was 2 weeks ago but I am a member of Nandos.. Oh well I got my free subway

        • +2

Your complimentary meal will be valid for fourteen days either side of your birthday. Bring along your photo I.D and your PERi-Perks card or phone app and we’ll shout you a Nando’s meal (remember, if you are using the card, it must be registered with us!).

        • You need to be an "active" user, means you need to use your card in the past 24 months.

        • an "active" user

The way you put it made it sound like dope.
I don't think Nando's chickens are addictive though.

  • I got heaps of points by scanning for each of my colleagues, good deal!

  • Do you have to show ID to prove your birthday haha?

  • +2

Nando's is so overpriced. i'd rather spend 10 bucks at my local chicken and chips shop.

    • Yeah a 10% discount and birthday perks doesn't make up for the food being 30-40% more expensive than Oporto's or similar.

Hell you can get whole chicken's from Oporto for $14 vs. $21-22 from Nandos.

      • Maybe because it tastes arguably better than Oporto's (have tried it a few times and it wasnt very good, whereas i loved Nandos)

      • $21 is only in the medium end u obviously haven't bought a soya chicken (Chinese) these easily cost $30 or more. then you'll be screaming bloody murder

  • +2

Also, maybe just something to note about using this card to pay for a meal.
If you have saved up, say $15 in points and your order total comes to $18.95, you are unable to pay $15 card credit and $3.95 in cash. Found this out by trying this method at a couple of different stores. You have to pay 100% of the total in credit, otherwise you can not use it at all.

    • Is it just me, or is that really dumb??

      • +1

It's actually a smart ploy to discourage customers from using their credit as soon as it has been added; in the same way, it encourages further purchases to build up the balance so that it can be used and not be wasted.

  • How do you claim the drink?
    Hot Offers is empty

  • +1

I wish nando's would just accept they are a fast food restaurant and charge fast food prices!!

    • +1

What is Grilled then? And what is fast food if you're waiting for it to be freshly cooked?

      • +1

You can say the exact same thing about Hungry Jacks

    • +1

the nando's I go to are anything but fast :)
but they're never empty either. They know they have a good product and people are willing to pay for it.

  • Basically the same as Mad Mex, but Salsas is now the obvious rip off.

    • Salsa's is absolute garbage.

    • I'm afraid so but it's a simple procedure and you can do this at: http://periperks.nandos.com.au/activate

    • The online website only if you have the card
If you are planning to use the app, it seems that you should register it with the app (without card activation). Just did mine just now

  • Great find OP!

  • Can you register on the day?

    • How do we know we got the deal? Is it shown as a free meal on the app? or email??

      • Yes, you can register on the day and you will receive an email with a barcode for free drinks or meals.

  • No complaints for free lunch burger plus drinks today on my b day

  • Can I still claim the free birthday meal if I have never used the card?
