Went into Target today and noticed this on their counter.
JB Hifi has it for $54, EB Games for $69.
This is by far the cheapest I've seen for it.

Aren't those grey imports that take forever to arrive?
They're actually on par with OGS in terms of shipping speed now. Took a week for my last two orders.

They were. The Last of Us and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate both arrived a week after launch.
I'm still waiting for GTA V from Video Ezy…which they didn't dispatch until 3 days after the order! - i wouldn't use them again because they ship from their Hong Kong warehouse and you'd be better off trying to get a price match from a local store.
It is a imported version and they are saying it takes ages to arrive to them.
I also managed to get EB Games to price match this along with the preorder bonus by showing them the preorder form.

I went in with a friend (he was the one buying the game), and they actually offered it to me with the price match.
The pre-order bonus is for a pre-order. It isn't impacted by you price matching.

Yea, they put the new price onto your EB World profile for when you pick it up and pay the rest off the preorder.

hmm hopefully mine does, they didn't even want to give me the preorder blimp for GTA V. Have 2 other EB games stores within a reasonable distance though, but not overly fussed would be cool, but would rather save $40 than get 2 plastic pokeballs.

I would have given half my torso for a plastic pokeball back then.Nowadays its dwindled to a few extra bucks :P but the want is still there!
In primary school my friends and me all had the plastic pokeballs they were only like $5 so I dunno why you don't have one, for shame. Used to catch butterflies, moths and bees with them as well as those little hover flies then you could pretend to send them out ha ha good times.
Born in 89 actually :-) Had a few back in primary school with the pvc figurines that popped out, they were pretty great, these are perfect for me now though as they are just big enogh for 3 ds games so i can take a few select games around with me in my pocket to a mates house.
All is good though they stated i wouldn't get it, but i mentioned other stores are doing it so they said ok, but the staff member on the other register said I could have hers if whichever staff member on the day I pick it up refuses to give me them. So i am getting 1 at least.

I bought them when I visited the Tokyo Pokemon Center.You what would drive you mad? The Poke Center has the gameboy music (for the poke center) looping continuously. With the occasional 'ding ding doo doo ding' of the healing machine.
Very cool, but as a staff I'd eventually start dressing as Nurse Joy and only asking if I could take their pokemon for a minute. insanity!
If you bought from the first shipment of games (obviously you did since it was Day 1), they should have given you the blimp unless for some reason they ran out already. It wasn't a pre-order exclusive at all.

Why would they do a midnight launch when majority of the person that will buy it is sleeping?

Same here mate, already preordered but just stating the fact why most likely it wont have a midnight launch.
The sales they get wont be enough to cover the sales and staff salary for the night.

I think the X mewtwo (muscles) looks better then the y mewtwo (rats tail)
im going with Y purely based on the fact that Mewto is a hands down Sp.Atk based pokemon and should not be mixing a physical sweep with his stats to turn him into an all rounder
Whilst Y mewto is an even more buffed Sp. Atk mewto so you can just special sweep all the way through til endgame :)
You probabbly won't get him til end game though :/
Hey does this work on a DS Lite? I'm a little out of touch with nintendo handhelds since my GBC days.
3DS only.
All new 3DS branded games will work on any of the 3DS consoles, including the 3DS, 3DS XL and the new 2DS, which is coming the same day Pokemon X and Y are coming out. Strangely enough, the new 2DS will be able to play 3D games in 2D at a cheaper price.
The 2DS is basically like playing a 3DS with the 3D slider all the way down. The reasoning I believe is that the 3D screen is recommended for ages 7 and higher or something along those lines and they wanted to target (heh, 'Target') a younger audience too. Based on that the weird shape also makes sense since the hinges are usually the weakest part of the handheld.
Only problem I have is that the 2DS looks butt ugly, not to mention mono sound only from the speaker.
Well I won't be preordering from target again.. Ordered gtav and it still hasn't shipped.. On their Facebook page a few people are having issues.. Ill be buying from a proper game store next time. I might just order my Pokemon x and y from eb

Went in to check this out today at EB and Target at Westfield Helensvale QLD. EB said they would do the pricematch but only if Target had it in stock when you went to pick it up (eg. on launch day). Otherwise you would have to pay the full price. They also said you would still get the bonus pokeball game holder but that there would be limited stock and not everyone would be guaranteed to get one anyway.
Too many "maybe's" for my liking so ended up pre-ordering at Target.
That's odd. I guess different stores have different policies.
My local EB just made a note of my price match on the system when I preordered.

EB was able to price match my pre-order. Your mileage may vary.
Most people don't seem to care about 3D anyway and esp all you Pokemon fans are gonna pick this up regardless, but heads up for anyone who doesn't know - neogaf is reporting that X and Y won't utilize 3D for the overworld?? Only for battles (and then it causes frame rate drops.) I've never really played Pokemon but this one looked cool and my niece is really into it so I was thinking about getting this, but that's a bit of a bummer if correct. And if it is I really feel like people should be made aware of it a bit better/sooner than they have been! anyway..
Pretty sure 95% of people play with 3D off, always (after they experimented with it a bit for the first month or so).
Remember if your going to buy a 2DS, a 3DS refub from EB is about the same price…

I play with the 3D on 99% of the time.
EB at canberra centre wasnt able to price match on preorder, since they said its technically not a sale. However, on release day, I can go in with the price of release and price match it then.
Tried EB at Top Ryde wasn't able to price match on preorder either because target isn't in the shopping centre (there's a target and EB at Maquarie so might go there to see if they can preorder price match or buy on the day).
